License plate lights
I just had the idea of replacing my rear license plate lights to green bulbs (my car's green), probably LED's...is this possible?
and also...is it legal? |

you could add your own separate set of lights & use them offroad.
flip them on while you're car lengths in front of a civic |

okay, what about putting an LED right behind the pony on the front...would that make the outer rim of the pony glow?
I see no reason why that would be illegal, unless it'd be red or blue. |

I twould look cool to run something to the scoop too. A couple of LEDs. Matching in color and intensity. Set them behind the mesh on the hood. All you'd need to do is drill out some of the holes in the mesh so the light comes through. You could even do the side scoop that way too. Theres room behind those as well. I just dont know about water in the side scoops. You'd have to seal them off somehow and give water somewhere to run out... Your right, this could be sweet... |

the scoop idea is interesting...I really don't wana overdo it though, i'd just want something very subtle.
I have a 94 so I actually just have like those two tiny little scoops on the hood...that could look pretty sweet actually. have a red/orange LED in there, and a little fog machine, make it blow smoke ![]() a friend of mine calls my car the green dragon lol that'd be the coolest shit ever..... I don't know about the side scoops though, that might be overdoing it for me. i dont think water would be an issue though, it would just go through them, they are functional. i dont know if they actually improve aerodynamics or something, but if you spray water through it, it goes right through to the wheel. |

maybe a set of 3 or 4 bright colored LEDs for both the front grill & license plate. Any more than that is kind of over doing it/Ricer Style. & im not so sure about the smoke. haha
I did see a guy buy 2 small LED sticks & put them under his door handles. He had them wired to the interior lights, so when you unlock your car, they came on. Pretty sweet. |

that's kind of a cool idea too....
it's just hard finding the right balance between cool and ricey lol. cus these are all cool ideas...but all of them put together would be kinda..... *puke* |

is it hard to wire something to your interior lights? where do you have to route the wires to for that?

my guess is to find the wires leading up to the int. lights. tap into one at a time. Using a voltmeter (one lead on the wire & other on ground), press your unlock button & if the reading jumps to a constant voltage, thats your wire.
then place your positive lead for the LEDs on that wire & depending on the voltage in that wire, add resistors so you don't blow your LEDs. Then attach your ground wire to the metal framing of the door. Make sure there is no exposed (+) wire. getting to the wires might not be fun, but the process is simple. |

What are you wanting to wire to the headlights?

an LED behind the front pony emblem...and perhaps in the hood/side scoops too.

oh. for that you just run a wire to the battery, & the ground to the closest metal piece. In between the wire going to the battery needs to be a switch & some strong resistors.

hmm...
couldn't I just route it to the headlight switch and tap into that wire? cus I'm assuming that switch goes to the battery... i'm just not sure on how to get access to the headlight switch. |

yeah, that would be possible.
but i would put it on an independent switch because it would look cool to have just it on in a parking lot at night. |

I don't know...
Picture yourself driving a honda and you look in your rear view mirror and see a pony glowing green. sounds pretty badass to me.
