Cost to paint my my bodykit?

Hey, i want to slowly put a Saleen body kit on my car because money is an issue. How much would it cost me to paint the Saleen front bumper silver clearcoat metallic. After that i will be saving up to have the rear bumper and side skirts and scoops painted. So how much would these pieces cost to be painted. Thanks a lot!

including prep work and scuffing, i'll usually charge $375, but if it's prepped, just $300 at the most

This is easier for me to say than do beleive me, because I usually get pretty excited and can't wait when it comes to doing things to my car, But I am learning as life goes on that it is better to wait. You should wait and do the parts together. 'Especially if money is an issue'. There is less cost in labor and prep and you can be sure of color match. Each time you have an item painted they will have to blend the clear onto the rest of the car-that is if it is done right.
Just think if you wait...It will be a new car when it is all done, it will at least feel that way. Dont peice it together...UNVEIL THE CAR! You will appreciate it better...and you won't hear people say- "look he is trying to make it look like a saleen (as you piece it together)...instead you hear- "Look at that kick-ass Saleen. Just my opinion. goodluck.

yeah, he's right. just wait.

each time you get a piece painted, you're paying for at least 1 can of paint. so if you wait & get the whole thing painted, you would pay for less paint. plus, getting the kit altogether is cheaper.

If you DO decide to get them all installed and painted seperately, go for the front and sideskirts first and rear bumper last.

You don't want to have the front and back on without sideskirts, that would look retarded.

No post back from this first time poster...perhaps that first post was a stroke of good luck, a freak of nature? It can be tough out there. Remember when we first tried to post a question. Damn what a bitch. LOL

No lol i am listening to what you guys are saying! I actually might just do what you said and just save my money up and have it all done at once. How much would it cost to have the whole kit painted ie; front and rear bumper, side scoops and skirts? Also how much would it cost to have it all installed? Thanks a lot guys.

Welcome to the Forum Tmac.

Best to call your local shops and compare about 4-5 quotes. Different shops use different materials. This reflects cost.

Most shops wont charge you to install because they would have had to take the original equiptment off it that was what you were painting, which I know your not. You are saving them a step having them already off. Don't let them charge you for install!

also, you may want to know the difference between polyfiber & polyurethane before buying your kit

well i suppose that the polyurethane is better? Is there a difference between polyurethane and just urethane? Would it matter if i got a replica front bumper and side skirts that were urethane? Also still looking for an estimate to paint my whole kit.

those are probably the same. as long as you got with one of those over polyfiber, you'll be fine

not sure of the price, but i'd expect around 800-1000 for a good paint job

Here is a stalker styled body kit with a cobra r styled wing on back. I actual like this kit for a GT and dont feel it looks "ricey"...hate that word!...doesnt look tunerish. I think the subtle mineral gray grounds it. I am sure if it had a loud/bright paint job then it would be a different story. The 20's even work on this car.

Oh yeah, it just costed me 325 to get my driver side front fender repainted but the neighbor is paying for it for the repair... they did an awesome job!
