My Steering Wheel shakes constantly since new rims installed

I got 4 new 18inch saleen rims and balanced tires from americanmuscle.com and ever since i installed them, at certain speeds like 50 mph ... my steering wheel constantly shakes.

The shaking doesnt make in undrivable...but it is annoying

I don't know what the problem could be, anyone have an idea?

Might also check for loose lug nuts. The place I go to says you should always re-torque them after about 50 miles. Just something simple you might check if you haven't already

You could also have a broken belt in the tire. Have the tires checked & balanced.

Did you hit a bad pothole or something that may have damaged something else under the car?

That doesn't necessarily mean it was done properly.

I tend to agree with ya there. But, better safe than sorry. I've also seen brand new tires have broken belts. Good Year....ugh....

I keep leaning towards the belt/balance thing because he says it's only occurring at a certain speed. If it was something bent in the steering/suspension, chances are it would do it all the time and be more severe. Possible one could get a bad rim, even if it's brand new?

it could be.. you never know.

but then again the only way to find out if you have a bent rim would be to get an alignment.
