Bumper Inserts

I just got some of the stainless steel inserts for my stang and they came today.. i noticed, though, on the american muscle site they say

WARNING! - It is strongly recommended that you DO NOT use an automated car wash after installing these letters. Letters can be torn off under certain conditions.
is it something i should be worried about?

I bought the same thing from American Muscle. I wash my car with an electric powerwasher and the letters havent moved a bit. I wouldnt be too worried dude.

I will say this. Be carefull and make sure to take your time putting them on. Use lots of soapy water so they will slide around to fit in nice. They arent an exact fit as they say they are. I had black inserts and I really had to move the silver around to cover all the black.

Also, if you want to do something cool now, go buy some silver heating and A/C tape. The metalized roll that is silver (not gray duct tape).

Slide a strip up under your bumper so the it shows throught the little rectangles below the inserts. I did it on mine and it really highlights the whole "theme" having that silver back there too. Its not over doing it either. Its a nice subtle highlight that will add some more uniqueness. Less than $5 which makes it great. Not only that, its not permanent. If you dont like it, take it out. Worst case scenerio is that you got a nice roll of metalized tape when you need it.

As long as you clean the area really good before you apply the letters you shouldn't have any probs with the car wash.

Its not the glue that they are commenting about and not the pressure of the water at the facility. It is possible for a foam brush to snag or hook on the edge of the insert and rip it off.

ahh.. i see.. there are usually only two "automated" carwashes that ill visit one is for quickness and getting it *cleaner* lol "laser: touch free" (no brushes only water jets).. and the other is the one i go to for a quick detail.. oldy but goody style with spinning things on the side and the ones that drape down from above and the side/undercarriage waterjets
