67 with bad paint

I just got a 67 mustang coupe. the Original color was baby blue and the guy who had it before me re painted it candy apple red, but he just painted right over the paint… not the paint is starting to flake off in some areas I want to keep the red but kinda lost on how to touch it up. I don’t really want to pay $600 to touch up a few spots… it there some old tricks like get some bondo to make it smooth and a can of touch up????

If it starts to flake like that, I'd just save the money to get it repainted, when paint started to flake it usually indicates a bad "bite"..
