Touch Up Paint

Anyone know a good place to buy touch up paint. I have a 99 mustang with Atlantic Blue paint (color code k6). I have checked all the usual places (car part stores) but none of them carry this color (everything but this color of course).

Thanks. I found a few places online but after shipping it was $25 for a small bottle of touch up paint or $42 for a small can of aerosol.

on the subject. Whats the best way to apply it? Is there an easy way to get it to match the car better than just putting it on? I mean, are you supposed to sand it? How do you do such a small spot???

i used duplicolor. It turned out okay but then again i diddn't do their 4 step proccess. You're suppose to putty it, prime it, paint it, then clear coat it. I was cheap and only bought the paint it part. It turned out decent but luckily it's under the front bumper so its not very noticable. I tryed using fingernail polish remover (Don't every put this shit straight on your car, it'll take off your clear coat) reallllly lightly to get rid of excess paint and then waxed over it. this is ideal for small, unoticable spots.

one way you might want to do it without spraying anything and it will look "almost" perfect.

actually first make absoulutly sure there is no more paint chipping arond the edgel it needs to be a solid break; or it will ruin the proces

So first you wanna start out with small layers of paint in the chip ONLY,it should take a couple thin layers with dry time between to get a slightly raised bump above the suronnding paint, and remmber try to contain all touch up paint in the chip. REALLY IMPORTANT

After it is fully cured, like a day, make a tiny sanding block out of something small and flat, i ussually use a little piece of a mixing sick. And while being very carfule to just block down the raised bubble with wet 2500 grit. then aftter you think its smooth block a little bit around the repaier area with 2500 then buff it.

If the touch up paint color matches you shold not be able to tell unless right on top of it.

Color is Atlantic blue. I checked out express paint and although they carry the color, after shipping it was close to $30 for a small bottle of touch up paint. I now have it on order from Ford, but it will take 2-3 weeks. I had some paint custom mixed at a local parts store but it was not 100% match. I have not checked out autozone, but I assume since I live in the middle of nowhere I would run into the same shipping cost.

ya it would be good to have an autozone in my area but I do not think there are any in canada at all. I usually have to settle for getting parts at the stealership, ebay, junk yards, or a few local auto part stores.
