Side decal removal?

I have been considering removing the side decals that say mustang. what is the most effective way of taking them off, and does the car look cleaner/better with the decals gone?

You have a few options. The first option would be to get the hair dryer out and start heating the decals at one end and then slowly begin peeling away. The other option is to go to the local Body Shop supply store and buy a decal removal wheel kind of a eraser type thing that you should be able to attach to a cordless drill. Which ever you choose I would then go over the entire area with some Goo Gone to remove any residual adhesive followed with a good wipe down with Denatured Alcohol. Follow that with some Automotive Polish to get some shine back and then a nice coat of wax to protect the paint.

Best way is to use a heat gun or hair dryer and fishing line or plastic razor. Be careful using flammable solvents and the heat gun or hair dryer.

when i debadged my dodge ram i used fishing line and just did a sawing like motion behind the badge until the badge fell off. then i took a plastic puddy knife to the rest of the adhesive and just picked it off with my fingers to get majority of the adhesive off. then i used 3M adhesive remover (which wont damage your paint and you can also use goo gone) to get the rest of the adhesive off. then when your done wash the area and apply your wax. hope this helps its a rather simple process.

Just realize you have an 02 and that sticker has been there for 5 years so the paint underneath is going to be new so you will still be able to see the whole outline of the sticker.

Ah yes very good chance of that unless you kept the finish flawless for the whole time and garaged.
