Deer 1, Hood 0....

Why are animals so flipping stupid? Ok, Yea I know that the Platypus is the world’s original joke, and that the occasional puppy or kitten can do some rather silly things, But I’m talking about the just plain STUPID animals. Like a deer. Ah yes, the good old Deer.... Sure they taste pretty darn good, especially when made into jerky, but these things are STUPID! Why in the world would an animal knowingly and willingly walk in front of something, like... well let’s say a 2002 Redfire Mustang GT traveling at about 75 miles an hour. To me this just seems a trifle self-destructive. Right? Ok, maybe the pretty lights attracted its attention... But does it have to put its body RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CAR!! I think I know where the legend of Santa's flying reindeer came from. They were hit by a car!

Yep. In case you can’t follow my ramblings, I just plowed over a deer. After I slid to a stop and grudgingly climbed out to see the damage, the darn deer ran BACK at my car and hit it in the rear quarter panel! I mean this is dumb... My car was STOPPED! Guess the deer just really likes mustangs. So I dig out a flashlight (you do carry one in YOUR car, right?) and go up front to survey the damage... I’m expecting to see busted headlight, dented and torn fender, destroyed hood, messed up front suspension... I did hit the darn thing pretty hard. Well my Hood is now cracked in about 5 places, none by themselves to bad, but all in all, my hood needs to be replaced, but that is all the damage I can find. How lucky is that!

I can’t wait to tell my wife this in the morning... She already thinks that I spend WAY too much money on my car. I’m sure this will go over REAL nicely...

oh as soon as I saw the bugger I hit the brakes. I was probably only going 30 when I clipped him. He almost cleared my car, but I think I got his hind leggs as he bounced away. I know he wasnt walking right, back legs diddnt work... Poor guy had to be put down... Oh well, he cost me a hood!
