20" wheels
I am looking to get 20" aluminum wheels. with some 30 series tires. I am going from the stock 16" factory wheels, would I lose much power, or are 20" going to kill my MPG and or Power for those of your guys who have got 20" on your mustangs...

^agreed, 20's on a mustang looks gay IMO unless its on a 05+.
if your worried about power then you dont put on 20's, more rotating mass always slows you down especially if you have a v6. |

+1. I think its just completely dumb. Takes away the muscle from the car when you put wheels like that on it. And really i think a bit thicker tires look better like a sidewall of 40. Small tires looks dumb on mustang IMO. But sometimes you can get away with this with a +05 Mustang. I just got 17" 03 cobras. but ive got a 2000

20's can look good on a muscle car if done right. with 20's in back but smaller rims in front on a older car of like the 50's or 60's can look pretty sweet. any late model stang other than s197s will look gay with 20s.

You will lose a ton of power going from the stock 16s to 20s, especially if you have an automatic. I would say 18s at the most. 20s look great on the S197s but on any other ones 18s at the most.

it is a 2006 it is fire red, with black stripes. I am going to go with a 20" black with a polished lip. I took it into the tire shop this afternoon, and they had the tire i wanted mounted on the rim i want, and we put it on my car to see what it would look like. while both tires were off the car i lifted them both, and the 20" did not seem to weigh much more at all. like 1-2 lbs if any. i may be gaining metal, but i am losing rubber. i am sure I will lose a little power, but nothing a tune can't fix.
I have not decided yet 100%, but my buddy has 18" on his 08 and it does not quite look as good as I want. kind of like the silver stang on the message forum thats the shelby. those are 20" and those look real good. |
