How do you remove stubborn water spots?

I have some water spots on my car I can't seem to get off, I've tried the 50/50 water and vinegar mix, a Meguires clay bar and regular cleaner wax. What gives, will I have to wet sand next?

most likely, if the residue has soaked into the clearcoat, or even worse, the paint... it will take some refinishing. I have some on my car from the pervious owner not caring for it right. Just waiting till I repaint it a few years down the road.

needs to be buffed out. look at SVTPerformance.com and visit the show and shine saloon. its a great detailing section and will help you get those water spots out.

try washing the car in the early morning when there is dew on it, if that does not work then you you wil have to wet sand with 1200 and buff

Thumbs up

Got the spots off!

I wound up using Meguiar's Deep Crystal paint cleaner, it worked great! I followed it up with the Meguire's polish and Carnuba wax so not to get any more spots. Thanks for all the info from everyone.
