ok my racing stripes and rockers and bumper inserts are in the mail.

will it be harder toput them on if i go ahead and wax my car before? or is that a good idea?

wont make a difference. you will clean the applied area with alcohol before applying decals, which removes the wax and contaminants anyhow. just wax after they are on.

ok i found some instructions that say they wontstick if theres wax on your car, is this true? and if so is the alcohol enough or should i buysome wax remover?

You can use Dawn...It will strip the wax off of it...Just pour some dawn into a bucket of warm water and go to town...

Re-Apply a nice coat of wax after the decals are installed...Becuase the Dawn will remove ALL the wax...

be sure to use alcohol even after dawn though. the alcohol will remove any and all contaminants left behind that may cause bumps under the vinyl

just regular dawn dish soap? ive been using some dish soap to wash my car lately, is it just dawn? lol

dont ever use dish soap to wash your car! it removes wax! use a soap from like autozone or w/e, one made for cars especially and won't remove wax.

Hey jealousy, these guys are right, don't ever wash your car with dish detergent since it will streak the finish by removing wax. When you are applying stripes or any type of automotive decal you want to use Naptha.
You can get it at any hardware store. Alcohol and Dawn will remove wax but in order to get it all off you have to use something stronger. Naptha is the stuff that the instructions have told me to use on every decal I have ever installed. Get a bunch of very clean rags (diaper type), apply the Napth to the rag and turn the rag over on every pass since you want it to be as clean as possible. Repeat this several time. Don't inhale to much of this stuff or you will get dizzy!!!

hey. a little late but thanks for the help, i started yesterday, worked on it for about 5 hours, and so far ive done the hood top and trunk, havent done the bumprs yet, i think its gonna be pretty hard, how do you go around things like where the licence plate is, or those 2 bumps on the front bumper where u can put a plate? i mean this stuffs not flexible lol, but its going ok so far, pics will be posted

you can cut it with a razor where you do not want the vinyl...

i want the stripes all the way down the bumper, but theres 2 big bumps where the front licence plate should be, i dont think i can mold it over them? anyone have this problem?

You should be able to mold it over...You mgiht have to smooth the bumps over alittle bit before you put the stripes on though...I ahve seen it done before though...
