California Special

Just purchased a 2007 CS and I want to take the stripe off the side and put a rally stripe on. My buddy says this will ruin the CS. Any owners or opinions on this would help. The car is white with the balck CS stripe. I would be putting a black rally stripe on it.

don't do it. isn't the whole reason for buying the CS is because it is a CS. in the long run if you plan to keep the car for a long time it will be worth more if you keep it original, but eventually almost all cars need to be repainted so you would have to replace the stripes anyway. i still wouldn't do it

both....don't really know. might be too much, but that is something you would really have to see first. you will be one of the few that has one though so i would still leave it.

Switched the color to black, the cs stripe will not be a problem anymore. It arrives Oct 31. i can't wait. Thanks for being the only one with advise.

yeah i would have ordered the CS if i were able to get the interior in all black or charcoal. i didn't like the look of the light gray or tan. so i ordered the alloy GT premium. congrats on a great new car. get us some pics when it comes in

Hey Phyco Bob. when I ordered my car, I said I wanted the charchol interior with just the grey inserts in the seats. Am I getting grey panels on the doors and under the dash. Do you know more on the interior options or does any one else. My invoice is not very clear.

i didn't actually talk to a dealer. i spoke with the sales rep. here on my camp in iraq. i didn't think you could order just the inserts for the seats, but i'm not sure since all i can see is on the ford website. all i see there looks like you can only get it with the whole interior with the color not just the seats. hope you don't get screwed on this since you might end up with the whole thing being the light grey and not just the seats. i would go back to the dealer and make sure otherwise you might end getting something you weren't expecting or wanting.

I bought a 2007 GT/CS and I thought about adding some racing stripes. I'm glad I didn't. I kinda like the stripe on the side.

I changed the wheels. The new ones are black with a polished lip and they really make the side stripe stand out. It adds a lot of contrast. But since you ordered yours in black, I guess it doesn't matter...lol

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your Stang (with the stripes).

Just left the dealer, not here yet. Starting to get pissed. Ed your car looks sweet. Calling to find out where it is? They have a vista blue coupe, a white coupe. (both have the 3.55 rear and are manual) and a black vert also a manual tranny. Tempting to switch.

i think i would tell the dealer to screw themselves and go to another dealer or make them give you a good hefty chunk off the price. when they say they have to make something off of it also. hahahahahaha my sticker price is like 30 grand and i'm getting mine for 26,250. so yeah they can take off plenty if they want to keep the sale.

The wheels are 20"s with 255/35 BFG's in the front and 285/35 in the rear. Thanks for the compliments.
