New Rims - Tire size?

Searching is getting me nowhere. Like the title says I just picked up a set of four 17x8" FRCW Bullits for my Stang Saturday when I went to a swap meet down in Englishtown, NJ from CJ Pony Parts. I currently have the stock 16" Pony rims with 225/55/R16 Hankook rubber. My question is what size should I look for in a new tire for these rims? I have some 225/45/R17 Kuhmos in my shed but they seem small to me.
