water spots in paint
When I bought car car last year, it had noticeable water spots that I thought would come out with a good strip and wax job, and that did help a little but, but I can still see them. Any ideas? I think it was from sprinkler water, the sprinkler water down here in FL has a high sulfur content (based on the rotten eggs smell). It's really noticeable on the trunk lid, spoiler and the hood, so basically the large flat surfaces. Is this just gonna require a new paint job or is there any other fix or something a detailing shop could do?

Is it acid rain???? If so a claybar isnt going to take them out. You'll more than likely need a buffer, cutting pad and probaly a heavy compound to get them out. Any pics??

They don't come out? Mine are gone with a simple wash. Otherwise Claybar is definitely the way to go.

Hard water that is in the paint is a build up of that nasty calcium crap. A simple wax or wash wont get rid of the real bad cases (we get this out here in arizona A LOT because of the type of water used in sprinkler systems and our normal water supply) At work, we acid wash the cars and it comes right off, along with a good wax afterwards and it's like new. You can buff, but that also cuts the paint, which to me, isnt worth it unless you're taking scratches out or something. I'm not even sure a clay bar will do the trick, but you can try. I've always gone for the acid wash and never bothered with the claybar.
Or you can drive the car all the way to me and I'll hook you up for a decent price! haha.

Just faintly noticeable, actually only really visible from an angle and in low-light situations. Also when the car is wet is seems to make them show up more. From up close, you can still see them in bright sunlight, but they're not obvious. I've never heard of an acid wash before, what's that about? I think it's from the sprinkler water down here too, btw.
