arhodes591 Newbie 2005 Mustang V6 Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Illinois Posts: 44	Stupid question on headlight tinting Hey guys, probably a stupid question but are tinting your headlight/taillights legal? i always thought that was ilegal but I see a lot of people doing it. Just wondering.

i dont think any light tinting is "legal" but we do it lol

be carfull if you get the sticker type tint for the head lights i hear that they melt

I got pulled over for something else and the cop didn't say anything about the tinted tail lights, but he also didn't say anything about the limo tint or no front licence plate. Here in NY most cops are pretty cool about it, but theres one town near here that if your window tint looks like it is more than 35%vlt (the maximum in NY) they can pull you over and check it. They have a small chart to compare it to and if it comes up as being less than 35 then you need proof that it's not. Never seen them pull someone over for tail or headlight tints, but I've never seen anyone around here with tinted heads or tails anyways.
