FLAT BLACK...do or dont

i have an 89 coupe i have been tryin to decide wat color i want to paint it... i really like the flat black but have heard that alot of ppl think it looks cheap... i was thinking about painting the car flat black and having the molding around the bumpers and middle of the doors painted gloss black with tinted windows and smoked one piece headlights...it has chrome cobra 17s...dependin on what it looks like would determine if i would go with black wheels....open to all opinions...thank you

Do it. The only time flat black looks bad is when you can see the spray pattern. Good idea with the gloss accents.

I really am not a fan of flat black, I was thinkin about doing it when I painted my car, but I just went with high gloss and I am very happy. Do whatever you think will look good... its your car and you r the only one that has to look at it

if i was you i would find somebody that is extremely experienced at painting bc flat black like everyone else said is hard to spray bc of the lines you get. my advice is go with a matte black.

l like that flat black was almost gonna do it on my dually but went back with a metallic black instead but I say go for it and if you dont like it you can always paint over it..using it as a primer as long as you dont seal it or wax it which shouldnt be done anyways...and the idea about painting the moldings gloss black would make it look even better and maybe a couple other accents like your brakes, wheels, mirrors, door handles, or something else would be kick ass

thanx guys.... i plan on sprayin it flat black....the motor and trans arent in the car yet...and i just got back from panama city...so i will save the money and take pics of the process...havnt decided on the wheels yet...will see how they look with the finished product
