Mach 2 Ram air question!

okkk so im looking into buying a mach 2 open vent hood as advertised

now my whole reason for buying a new hood is to get rid of the none functional hood scoop on the stock GT hood. However i saw a back view of one of the hoods (mach 2 "ram air") and it looked like the air would go in the front of the vent then go straight out the back twords the windshield not the engine.. Let me know if yall know anything about these open vent hoods and if they help out at all or not.
