Racing seats... ideas?

Well I want to spice up the interior of my car. I do not like the gray/black cloth seats I have and have wanted leather for a long time. However, I do not have a grand to buy leather mach1 or cobra seats.

I was looking at these Recaro Black leather seats on ebay. The seller has over 5k feedbacks, all with 100% positive ratting. The seats look great, and are exactly what I want. The question is this;

How does the avg racing seat feel? Whats your experiences with them. Good, bad, ok?

How hard or they to install. I know that either a Slider/Bracket is needed. My question is will these "Universial Sliders" work? Just some info on what needs to be installed or de-installed would be great.

Also, is this a good deal? its $289 for the set. I know you get what you pay for, so if it ends up bein bad... then hey lesson learned, but I will not be out an arm and a leg... Thanks in advance everyone!

Aye, I know Corbeaus are very good quality... I think thats the right spelling. Just had never heard of this brand.. and I have no idea about the install. Love the look of em, and hope they feel good when sitting.

Thanks for the reply !

If the ones he's selling are real then they are good seats. Have you tried emailing the seller or anyone at the recaro site?

No I have not. Was hoping to get someone that acually has some seats like this, so they could say how they feel.

The description says "Recaro Style Seats" so im wondering if its acually Recaros or just the Style of them...

Not gonna be able to buy em this month anyways... deff will next month tho.

They're knock offs. Styled similarly but without the actual name. Wouldn't know about actual quality though, but Summit and Jegs both make them for I think 189 a seat. At least there you know what you're getting.

Yea, those aren't recaros. by the looks of it, not even real leather.

that's cheap though.

sparco and corbeau have a couple seats that are under or around the 300 dollar mark. I might try and look into those.

I am going to tell you from experience...

I bought Hunsaker Synkros...

Then had to buy the brackets from Wedge Engineering...

Then it took 2 almost 3 months to get my seats to my house from Hunsaker...Then the brackets didnt fit right so I had to modify then...

Go with Corbeau's get their seats and their brackets...It will cost alittle more but not by much...

I wouldn't waste my time/money on them. You might be saving money by buying these cheap knockoffs, but there's a huge reason that Recaro and Corbeau seats cost what they do.. there's a lot of research that went into them to make sure that they will be able to withstand a crash and not crumble into a million little pieces.

Also, you will get better looks & better quality real deal seats. You would be spending more in the end because I guarantee you that those seats won't last longer than a year (they might, but they're going to look like shit).

Good luck with whatever you decide to go with.

We are in the same boat. I have decided that unless i find a hell of a deal on some leather mustangs seats im just going to spend the grand on some bad a Corbeaus.
