Complete Paint Job
I want to get a complete professional paint job done on my red 1997 V6 Coupe. Any info would be greatly appreciated, from who should do it, how much cost to expect, what should be removed prior to the job, to what kind of paint/topcoat, etc. Thanks

I wish that I had taken off all the badges and filled the holes under them when I had mine painted. Just an idea..

Yeah I was just about to post my own thread on paint before I saw this. I'm wondering the same thing, especially about ballpark prices. A full body color change on a 67 fastback...? I'm trying not to steal this thread at all, but I don't want to start another one with the same basic question.

Color change(affects price)? When i do a complete, everything that can be removed i take off. You deffinittly want bc/cc instead of single stage, as for what brand my personal choice for normal paint work is PPG.

Color change will add 20-50% to the cost of an overall provided it's done right. Price will vary with the condition of the car, whether it's a complete paint strip off or paint over and the type and color of paint. Red IS the most expensive so be prepared. Ask around in your area and check out the work product of the shop before you plunk down your hard earned $$$. A total strip down color change with a cut and buff will start around $3000 and go up depending on your area.
