Gauge cluster tint????

Hey how is it going all? GuysI know I'm not suppossed to post this here but on visuals no one ever answer. I have this idea of making my gauge cluster glass, dark. I have the Reverse glow gauges on so It should look pretty good when the gauges are on. I want to buy two gauges that are th ones that look dark when the car i off and I want my stuff to look legit that is the reaon why I want to tint it. Has anyone done this and honestly is it a stupid idea?? Thanks, be honest guys no hurt feelings.

you can try this, but there will be many conditions where seeing the gauges would become nearly impossible with the tint, just due to lighting conditions...

best of luck with your idea

how dark are we talking like black out? cause you wont be able to see the gauges when they are on. with over say a 30% on there mainly cause tint that drak begins to skew light

Use the dimmer knob.

I'd put this in there with about as useful as tinting your SIDE MIRRORS...

There are MANY ways I am sure that we have not figured out to CUSTOMIZE our clusters...I mean really THIS AREA IS the part we see 90% of the time, since it's what's staring at us in the face when we're driving it.

(unless you're like me and trip all over yourself in parking lots from looking back at your mustang on your way into wal-mart... g/f gets pissed..haha)

Although how did you plan on tinting it?? SPRAY or actual TINT FILM?

Maybe pickup a cluster at the junkyard for like 20-30 bucks and try it on that one first. Or ATLEAST experiment with some type of gauges before doing yours...

I do stuff all the time and wind up regretting it but hey that's what makes us all different and some things DO WORK OUT NICELY. And I wind up kicking back in the shop and just taking in all the glory of something done that worked out well..

take care and if you do it snap some before and after pics and if it "WORKS OUT NICELY" as mentioned before maybe give us some steps/how-to's...
