How to Install Tail Light Tint (vinyl)

First off you need to order your tail lint tint. i ordered mine off ebay and it worked out pretty good. the hardest ones to put on were the outer ones on both sides. a heat gun would prolly help fix that problem easily though.

for those debating one whether or not to do it here are some pics of before and after and in between

ok lets get to it...

Supplies:
- tail light tint
- squirt bottle with warm water mixed with some hand soap
- knife or blade that u can easily handle and maneuver
- glass cleaner and paper towels
- some sort of squeegee to help get rid of bubbles (i used a credit card type card which also worked pretty good too)
- microfiber towel helps too

Step 1.
Use the glass cleaner and paper towels to clean the tail lights really good to make sure you get all dirt, dust, lint, etc. anything stuck under the tint will show up when applying the tint.

Step 2.
Spray down the section of tail light that u want to start on using the squirt bottle with the water/soap mixture.

Step 3.
Peel the tint off the paper and spray the adhesive side with the water/soap mixture.

Step 4.
Apply the tint to the section of tail light. This is where it gets tricky...when applying the tint u will most likely have bubbles so after u placed it and slid it around to where it u want it, you push from the center out to get the water out from behind the vinyl. THIS IS A SLOW PROCESS so take ur time. if you rush then it will turn out looking like shit. once it starts to stick and the bubbles are mostly gone then i started using a towel to help dry and push bubbles out bc its a little softer on the vinyl than the credit card is so u don't run the bigger risk of scratching the vinyl.

Step 5.
using the blade, trim off extra vinyl that is around the edges if it is difficult to get it to lay down.

Step 6.
move to the next section and redo steps 1-5

Step 7.
After finishing everything, take pictures and post them in the pictures section of the forum

im not sure of the %, but its just smoked, not blacked out. the blackouts make it look completely black without any red, but that i think would get the cops attention.

yea i just did mine yesterday. looks real good from bout the distance shown in the pics. but on the very first one theres like a fold, and a bubble on one other. u really have to get close up to notice them. it was a learn as i go process. pissed me off at times. but i started to get the hang of it and the last 3 look perfect. i figure for $15 it wont be a big deal to redo it later sometime
