What rims for my six?
So I've got an '03 Torch Red V6, couple appearance mods, lowered, Cobra front bumper, gt rear bumper, and some cheap ass Eagle 95 R replicas. I didnt buy them but the dealership but them on the car while it was still on the lot. Well 5.5 years and 21k miles later, the rims are shot. The chrome doesnt shine at all, they just look like shit.
Was thinking of a few options, was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or could post up some pics of what they like. I was thinking of doing 18" deep dish black bullitts in the back, regulars up front. I was also thinking of doing 2000 cobra r's in chrome all the way around. Yea, I realize theyve been done, and done and done, but I like the look. Must be 5 spoke, nothing else looks right on a mustang IMO. FR500's and similar are the exceptions. Heres a quick pic, as you can see the rims definitely bring the car down. ![]() Heres a small video clip: Last edited by 1Clean6; October 11th, 2008 at 11:50 AM. |

why was this moved to the v6 section? Just cause the motor is a 6 doesnt mean the wheels will look any different.

Old School
I like wire spoke wheels.
These are off a Lincoln Mark VII Bill Bass 15" X 6" 5 X 5 1/2 Bolt pattern 1979 - 1992 I think! They are a solid aluminum rim with fake spokes. I was afraid that a set of real spoke would not be able to handle a Mustang with a lot of Horsepower. |

can't say i would ever paint my own rims, but having the chrome professionally buffed out is a much cheaper option and it will look almost new. that or you could get them powder coated any color you want. they have black chrome, they could match your car, really anything. i wouldn't get new wheels just because yours are not shining anymore. just need to be refinished or buffed. you could have them rechromed also.
