taillight tint??

is this legal, and if i get the tint should i go with blackout or the 50% smoke

100% illegal but most places don't care. I don't know what your car looks like but I say blackout or nothing.

It's not always illegal. There's a law on how much red light must be emited from the tail lights. Granted, adding tint will most likely bring you under this level b/c auto makers meet this level w/ everything stock. You could get brighter brake lights and then tint.

Depends on how rebellious you're feeling. Also, how are the drivers where you are? Mine used to be very black and watching in the rear view mirror, I saw a few close calls because during the day it's hard to see the brakes light up. I then switched to the lighter tints and haven't had any problems.

hahaha nooo!!
under the actual tailight put a peices of reflector tape on it... skinny peice.. like skinyer than pin stripe.. and can be 1/16th long..

im am thinking about getting the 50% smoked, because it looks alot better than stock and i think that it wont be too hard to see at night

You still have to meet the state requirement for minimum light output from tail lights.

i've had cops follow me around here and havent stopped me or anything. im thinkin as long as its not a strict ass cop or a completely blacked out light, u wont get bothered.

I've gotten pulled over for other things and they haven't said anything about the lights. But they also haven't said anything for not having a front licence plate so idk.
