Powdercoat or Spray Paint

I'm going to paint the intake and plenum/tb black but I dont know if I want to powdercoat them black or spray paint them. If I did the spray paint i would do the intake yellow with black flames or some other design. I have a nitrous line that rubs up against the intake and i'm also painting the block black if that makes any difference Thanks.

I vote powder coat. The stuff is going to hold up to the heat and such much better than a spray can.

How do those airbrushed ones hold up? I can't add it to the poll...

Well I dont know about airbrushing or anything, but powder coating is sprayed on then baked. So heat isn't going to really affect it. Spray paint on the other hand..That's kinda hit and miss.

Powdercoating is pretty expensive though. Do you think they would give me a deal if I brought in alot of parts lol?

i used to powdercoat and never had anyone bring something abck in because of heat crackin, the most you have to worry about when something is rubbing is the scuffing of the paint, but you wont be able to hurt it other than that.

i thought that was sarscasm on the clean engine bay, i thought they mean clean as in not cluttered, when its the opposite
but powdercoating for that thing will be like $30.

i know, ford just did a shitty job of the engine bay on our vehicles. its like they were running out of time, so they just threw shit together and made it work
im surprised no company had made intake covers for our cars to clean it up and cover it a bit, but noooooo they jumped right on it when the 05+ came out
douches.

DO NOT SPRAY PAINT IT!... spend the money and powder coat it... and you can go to auto zone and buy some black wire loom to put on that nitrous line and it wont hurt your intake...or you could route it differently... mine his completely hidden... all you can see of my nitrous kit under the hood is the red nut on the fuel rail "fuel line is wire loomed" and the wot switch... unless you have installed a kit on a stang you wouldn't know what to look for on my car....

I would powder coat the tb and plenum, because it will be more durable. If you want the cai flamed, just get it painted. The intake wont get hot enough to affect aumotive grade paint. If your still nervouse about it you can get it powder coated and then painted on top of that, but if it was me i would just paint the cai.
