What kind of paint? Im assuming basecoat clearcoat. Do you happen to know what kind of clear was used. I ask because different clears have different full cure times.

^^ +1 if you put it on like a week after the paint might peel off if you pull the vinyl to restick correctly,Or the Vinyl might not stick at all.

base and clear

I dont know what kind was used, I'll have to ask the shop. They will probably know how long i should wait also. I was just curious if anyone knew off hand.

I know you have to wait to do any kind of waxing, I just wasnt sure about the vinyl.

Your right about the wax, but let me show you this stuff:

Wizards Products:
Shine Master™ Polish & Sealant

Every thing i have painted since i found the wizards line has had this applied after buffing. I actually use this stuff instead of wax for my car. It is "breathable" so you can apply it right on fresh paint. I put this stuff on right after buffing so that means 1-2 days after the paint dries it is applied. And it will make your paint feel so slick you wont believe it.

What stickers are you planning on putting on if you dont mind me asking?

And im not real sure about how long before you can apply them. It will be at least the full cure time listed on the paint documentaion. But if you want my opinion i would take the full cure time(your shop will be able to tell you that) and add 3-4 weeks on top of that before the stickers go on.

I'm not sure just yet. Maybe boss stripes. IDK

The shop said "the say you can put them on right away, but i wouldn't for at least a month, if it was me" That brings me to storage time (salt in Iowa) so I'll prolly have to wait till spring Oh well, that will give me time to decide what I want 4 sure

What do ya know about the paint protection you get from the dealer with a new vehicle? They say you never need to wax your car with that applied to it. Is like a teflon type of thing?

I think some nice flat black boss stripes would look real good on it.

Well i dont know exactly what they put on there, but im gonna say it is a load of crap. Of all the years i have been involved with paint and everything i have read or classes taken i have never heard of any miracle paint protector that makes it where you never need to wax or polish your car again. Sorry to burst your bubble bro.

But really man, look into the wizards line, it is amazing. They have a product for pretty much anything you can think of dealing with cleaning, buffing, detailing your car. And Shine Master is like a freaking godsend. It is very good at getting rid of swirl marks, and like i said you can put that stuff on the day you get it back. That way your paint will still be protected before you wax it if you want to (salt in iowa).
