How to make my own carbon fiber parts.

Anyone know how carbon fiber is made?

I am thinking it is like starting with fiberglass matting & a tinted resin?

Any thoughts?

Carbon fiber is pretty much like fiberglass in a way. you can buy it in sheets just like fiberglass cloth and use resin just like fiberglass. So yes you can make parts from it using the same techniuqes as fiberglass cloth, but in order to have the total strengh cf is supposed to give it has to be vacum molded.

Wanting to overlay a GT-500 chin spoiler & maybe same dash pieces.

Make sure you get a lightweight cloth for the dash peices cause with cf the heavier the cloth is the harder it is to get it to conform to tight radiuses with out using a vacum
