A couple interior questions

im planning on changing my horrific tan interior to black soon by dyeing it. however as far as carpet goes, is there a die i can buy or would i have to buy new carpet? And the carpet on the door panels, do any of you ahve ideas for something to put there?

Also, how how hard would it be to change from a 2000 dash panel to one of the 01 types? has anyone done this?

have you done it? how much work is involved? I know it sounds like a PITA, but i really want the switches that come with it. Maybe im thinking of a 03-04 dash. is there a way i could get switches in my 2000 for foglights, etc?

You can dye the carpet but replacement would be better.
If it was mine I would dye the carpet on the door panels & replace the carpeting on the floor. When you dye the vynal/plastic interior parts make sure to clean them very good & use the vynal prep before spraying the parts.

Switching the consoles out isnt hard, it pretty much just snaps in and out. For the wiring you would have to maybe lengthen the wires to reach and change the connectors. Im not sure what the difference is on the wiring between the years or if you even have the right wiring. If thats the case you would have to make all new circuits for them.

The dash isn't any different from 99-04. The steer wheel over, guages, and center console/stereo are though. So there really isn't a cobra "dash".

BUY CARPET! Don't dye it, it won't be worth it.
Also maybe get some different seats rather then dying them. 1. its an upgrade (maybe get some cobra seats or even corbeu) 2. it may in the end save you a lot of time and money seeing as if you dye the seats you will probably have to get someone to unupoltster them to dye them. Idk the quaility of fords leather (beause its surely not the expensive stuff) may not stand up to being dyed, remember they are 9 year old seats.

i have to agree there. u can paint dashes and such...im actually in the process of doing it myself, but as far as carpet and seats go, get replacement stuff.
