WTB: Xbox 360 hard drive

Probably a long shot asking here but if anyone here has one for sale at a reasonable price let me know. Ive searched eBay but all they have to offer are either used untested units for retail or brand new units for waaay more than retail.

Someone PLEASE help this man out. He has been looking EVERYWHERE ( and I do mean everywhere) for a hard drive. None of the stores here in town have one and ones he has found on Ebay are waaaaay too expensive.

hmm

considering that the first xbox used a computer hard drive, it would seem ( only seem ) that one might be used in the 360.

Yeah, there are aftermarket pieces out there but they run anywhere from twice the price and up because they are designed to hold 500G of memory. Plus, the whole reason I need one is the programming that is in it to make my system backwards compatible (This is my main interest b/c I have some old xbox games that I would like to play on it). While I dont necessarily have to have a great deal on one, I dont want to spend more than I absolutely have to. Thanks for the input tho.

Thanks for the reply. I totaly forgot about this thread. I ended up finding one. It was the last one and I must say, Im pretty dissapointed too. The whole reason I wanted it eas for the backwards compatibility and it still only works with select games. I went on the xbox site and there is a posting there that claims microsoft will be making update discs available free + shipping and handling. +1 to Bill Gates for carefully planning his marketing.
