Giving Thanks Back - A Message From Our Community
The members of Modded Mustangs have a deep sense of pride and admiration for our friends, family, and troops that are currently overseas - and even for the ones that are still home with us. One member of our online community would like to give thanks to the Modded Mustangs’ members and community that we have become.
As the 2006 holiday season reached its peak the members of Modded Mustangs have kept our troops in their minds, hearts, and prayers. Multiple threads on our message boards have been popping up for creating care packages for our members overseas, and many requests to donate money to create these care packages for our members who don’t have the ability to be home for Christmas. One member, WHT00GT, has decided to speak up and give his thanks to the Modded Mustangs community. The care packages have proven to be a moral booster in this long enduring fight for freedom.
WHT00GT is an Information Systems Technician, Surface Warfare, Second Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy. What an Information Systems Technician does is work with computers, and also communications to keep the computers up and running. WHT00GTs job at the moment is to make sure the internet and email is working. It’s people like WHT00GT that help our men and women overseas keep in contact with their friends and families at home. He is one of the many people that our men and women overseas are thanking for just the possibility of contact.
WHT00GT has been in for a little over 7 years, and is currently attached to the air VAW-125, Tigertails air squadron. The VAW-125 are planes that are called E2C Hawkeye’s. These planes are not fighter jets, but what they are known as or called is “The Eye’s In the Sky.” What their mission is is to command and control. Being apart of Operation Iraqi Freedom this squadron is attached to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, which is currently deployed overseas in the Gulf. Currently these men and women are supporting the troops on the ground over in Iraq. The allotted deployment time for these brave men and women is set for 7 months.
As many people are not able to be home for this holiday season the members of our community have really stepped up to do their part, and try to bring the holidays to our military. All over the nation on the news more and more is being shown about what the nation is doing to give thanks, and bring holiday cheer to our military. This does not stop once a person sits down at their computer, and gets on-line. On our online community we have a huge sense of pride in our military, and never let our men and women forget that we are still behind them, and supporting them. This community has so much pride for our military that it is truley hard to conceal.
