You heard me right! Although there is no official word yet, it is rumored that the 2012 GT500 may in fact be carrying a twin-turbo variant of the new “Coyote 5.0″.

Why would Ford scrap the 5.4 platform? Well the answer lies in production. As Ford renews the F-series with the 6.2 V8 the 5.4 will be phased out. So this brings us to the GT500. Ford is faced with the choice of a heavy 6.2 variant from the “Raptor” or a hopped up 5.0, I myself would prefer the twin-turbo variant.

In addition to being twin-turboed it’s also a big possibillty that the new GT500 engine will have an aluminium block to save weight. While most of this is speculation, there are alot rumors and “comfirmed” facts. But in any case, be it a twin-turboed 5.0 or a supercharged 6.2 the future for the most powerful production mustang is very very bright.

Enjoy the article!

MM: Tell us why you signed up at MM?

Lefty: Just searchin’ through different forums…I found this one. Was welcomed by everybody and enjoyed the atmosphere of this site.

MM: How old are you?

Lefty: I am 19.

MM: You signed up in June of 2007, what has changed since then?

Lefty: Um…well I got another Mustang, A Cobra. I decided I wanted to upgrade so I found a killer deal on a 01′ Cobra Vert. Couldn’t sell my GT yet, it was my first car and I still have love for it.

MM: Without MM, would your life be devoid of all meaning and purpose?

Lefty: Yes. But seriously, it’s the first site I go to whenever I’m near a web browser.

MM: Which is more appealing to you: The 03-04 Mach 1’s or The S197 Bullits?

Lefty: 03/04 Mach 1’s. 2 reasons. I don’t see very many of them. I’ve seen more newer bullits than I have Mach’s. And the most important reason, ready? It’s a 4V!

MM: For the end all answer………..3.73’s or 4.10’s?

Lefty: 3.73’s. Simply because I do more highway driving than city.

MM: Tell us about your cars, which one do you like more and why?

Lefty: First is the 1996 Black GT Coupe. Bought it back when I was 17 for my first car. I’ve had some good times in that car and I couldn’t have asked for a better first car. Next is the 2001 Black Cobra Convertible. I bought this back in July 08′. Black exterior, medium parchment interior. It’s such a clean & sleek car. I love the 99/01 body styles. You don’t see many of them around. I see more Terminator’s than I do 99/01’s. As for which one I like the best…well…even though I have a secret love affair for the GT, I’m going to have to say the Cobra. Not only is it a badass car…it’s a 4V, a Cobra, and last, but most important, it’s a convertible

(Since the writing of this article Lefty has been forced to sell his GT, A moment of silence please………..Thank You)

MM: If you could borrow one, who’s would you borrow Swervo’s car or Emay’s?

Lefty: Um…I would borrow Emay’s to drive over to Swervo’s house to then test drive Swervo’s car. I have yet to drive an S197 so I’m going to have to let Eleanor take me for a ride.

MM: What is there to do in Mechanicsburg, PA?

Lefty: Mechanicsburg is located about 10 minutes from downtown Harrisburg and about 20 minutes from Hershey and then about 15 minutes from Carlisle. There’s plenty of stuff to do…a ton of car people around (I live between Hershey & Carlisle, what do you expect ), Hershey Park is killer! You can’t beat the Carlisle car shows…and downtown Harrisburg on weekends are pretty fun.

MM: How many MM Members do have phone numbers for?

Lefty: 3, Cody, Caleb and Travis (svtkidd23, Travis_Afx and papasmurf).

MM: Who is more BA: White99stang, Drgnracin72 or Weems?

Lefty: Um can I vote for all 3?

MM: 04 SVT Lightning or 2010 F-150 Raptor?

Lefty: 2010 Raptor. Because I haven’t ever owned a new car. But seriously the Raptor is bad ass and I see way too many Lightnings around here…

MM: Without using the words “Gay” or “Buttsex” describe MM in three words

Lefty: MM is Awesomeness (Yes, that word is made up )

The redesign is here, you 2009 Mustang owners own the last of the debut model design S197’s. The much hyped “Tweaking” of the S197 comes in a national downtime for U.S. automakers. How this will affect sales of the 2010 Mustang no one knows yet but there is a general feeling that this car will be a huge success despite the struggling economy

The first thing you probably notice is the redesigned hood. Ford took cues from many drag racing mustangs in the aftermarket community and designed a cowl like hood which extends over the headlights a little more than the previous model. That along with tweaks to the front fascia and headlights give the 2010 Mustang the most aggressive stance it’s seen since the days of the classic pony cars

Next you’ll notice the subtle styling tweaks along the sides of the new mustang and finally you get to see the brand new 2010 rear end. (Which is what I’m sure many of will aquaint all of your Gmc/Dodge buddies with) Ford knows how much ‘Stang owners love rear ends and they didn’t disappoint with a few new angles a new spoiler and some redesigned tails

As good as it looks on the outside that is not where the redesign stops. The Mustang has long been considered behind the times in interior comfort and luxury. Ford is looking to change that with this redesign an almost all new interior sports too many minor tweaks to mention here

Of course there’s always the upgraded high class Mustang!

And now finally what most of you want………A TEASER PIC!

Could this possibly be a 2010 Mach 1 with a 5.0…..To be continued…..?

Its been a while since we have featured a S197 on the homepage. And this should have been done long ago. Glenn Pradzinski aka HEAVYGT is the owner of the beautiful ride. Glenn lives in Bartlett Illinois. The car was bought with only 1700 miles on it and Glenn has turned it into the monster that you see today! Glenn would like to give a big shout-out to Erin May aka Emay. Without Erin’s work Glenn never could have done it on his own.To start things off to hide whats under that hood Glenn choose the Cervini Eleanor hood, which looks bad ass by the way. Moving back he went with Agent 47 race mirrors. He went with Cervini again when he chose their quarter window and lower scoops. To finish off those aggressive edges Glenn went with the GT500 rear spoiler. You would be crazy to say that this is not one of the cleanest S197’s on the road today. Good work Glenn! You don’t see many S197’s with a stance that nice anywhere you go. Glenn decided to go with the Eibach Pro Kit for his spring setup to give it that nice aggressive stance. He also wanted it to be able to get down and hook when he needed it to so he went with QA1 adjustable rear drag shocks, BMR lower and upper control arms, Steeda rear sway bar and chassis links. He had to have a nice set of wheels to compliment that mean stance so he went with American Racing Shelby Bullitt Wheels with some fat MT rears. This thing just screams power. Now you know something that looks that aggressive and has those fat MT’s out back has to have something backing it up. Well Glenn definitely does. How does a Kenne Bell 2.6L pushing 10psi of boost sound? It sounds freaking awesome if you ask me. Glenn also decided to slap on a GMS Twin 62mm TB to help push a little more of that air into the motor. To free up some rotational mass he bolted up a Spyder Shaft Aluminum drive shaft. To help some of that air escape Glenn chose to go with Kooks long tubes, custom catted h-pipe and SLP’s loud mouth exhaust. To give him the extra kick in the pants he went with FRPP 4.10’s. All of this coupled with a 100 octane race tune makes for one bad ass machine!Glenn’s future plans include a larger Moroso intercooler reservoir and a Livernois Motorsports 298 stroker short block. And we can’t wait. Congratulations Glenn for being our August Ride of The Month!

MamaStang: I asked my mechanic a bunch of annoying questions and apparently he was “too busy” to talk to me and said – “Go online and find a Mustang Forum.” So I did, I have to say…he’s been super supportive and very helpful. But if it weren’t for you guys here…I’d still be driving a stocker.

MM: What brings you to sign on everyday?

MamaStang: I love checking in with the crew and seeing what’s up with everyone. Seeing what everyone is doing to their cars gives me ideas for mine. I’m learning TONS about my car, which I find fascinating. Plus, I get to sharpen my already razor sharp wit!

MM: Where is your favorite part of the forum?

MamaStang: Duh – The clubhouse!

MM: Which is more accurate “MM is like close family” or “MM is like the part of the family where I would cry at their funeral but I wouldn’t go on vacation with”?

MamaStang: MM is like close family. And I would certainly go on vacation with you guys!

MM: Does Hmusn actually scare you?

MamaStang: Only when he accurately describes the position of which my door is in.

MM: How many times have you wondered if Hmusn REALLY was outside your window?

MamaStang: Often

MM: Do you secretly wonder if Hmusn is in fact CHUCK NORRIS?

MamaStang: No. Because I’m CONVINCED that he is.

MM: Anyone besides him give you the willies?

MamaStang: Naaaahhhh….I believe that everyone here is inherently good. They don’t get any better than Mustang Fanatics.

MM: If you could paint anyone’s car on this forum hot pink, Who would you do it to?

MamaStang: MSO. And I’d put a big Boy Scout Fleur Di Lis on his hood.

MM: What was your 1st car?

MamaStang: 1978 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham. White – T Tops – V8. It was the fastest car in the parking lot at school. Until some rich farmer’s kid got a brand new Firebird.

MM: Is this Your 1st Stang?

MamaStang: Nope! My 3rd.

First: 1988 Mustang GT Convertible – Stock (Pictured Above)

Second: 2003 Mustang LX Convertible – Stock

Third and Current:

2005 Mustang GT Convertible – Slightly Modified With New Shoes!

MM: If you could change one thing on your car what would it be?

MamaStang: A sexy new hood.

MM: Your car, making it a cruiser, crazy fast or a crazy fast cruiser?

MamaStang: Cruiser – Not crazy fast…but fast enough to make you go…WOW! I don’t need to win speed contests but I like it to sound fast and look fierce!

MM: So who’s the hottest guy on here?

MamaStang: Hmmmm, Not sure I’ve seen enough pictures of all the guys to make an educated call on that. Maybe there should be a thread about that like the ROTM?
(Editors note:…..ummm No!)

MM: What is your dream car?

MamaStang: As corny as this sounds, I’m currently driving my dream car. But 1 Fast Fox has a SWEET Aston Martin that is super sexy! If I had one of those that was paid for…that would be pretty cool.

MM: At the time of this writing you had 69 rep points…Comment?

MamaStang: 69? Better check your digits again. I’ve since got some sympathy points for not knowing anything about cars. lol

A little bit about MamaStang:

Raised in the middle of no where in Central Indiana. Has a passionate love for Mustangs that has possessed her, her whole life. Is married to a wonderful man who not only tolerates her “hobby” but he also supports and helps her with her addiction.

Also has two amazing children: Son, Tyler, is 16 and is in the process of completing his Eagle Rank in the Scouts. Daughter, Riley, is 10 and just earned her Blue Belt in Taekwondo.

MamaStang would to thank: there are MANY but the 4 biggest people that have constantly been there to encourage me and help me make educated decisions are RedFire, Zip, Futuremach1racer and HMUSN. Thanks guys!

I know what your thinking. That is one clean ass Mach 1! And no doubt it is. But don’t its beauty fool you, its packing plenty of power to back those looks up. The owner, Jake Richter (futureMACH1racer) has done a tremendous job with this beauty. Jake is a project engineer for STE Construction company. Congratulations Jake on your domination in July’s Ride of The Month. Now on to the good stuff.

Jake made sure this thing would handle like it was on rails with a Maximum motorsports K Member, strut tower brace, and an axle brace. Jake also has a set of MM Caster camber plates and full length sub frame connectors. The perfect stance is because of the H&R Sport springs with a set of Bilstein shocks and struts. Jake also has many more suspension modifications to make this one of the baddest on the road.

Now what kinda power does he make backing up that suspension? A good bit, I would say. Full bolt ons include: Steeda UDP’s, C&L RAI, Accufab TB, PHP Intakes spacer, Aeromotive Fuel system, Stewart water pump, and a ported and polished intake system. You know with all of those mods this dog has to have a mean bark right? Well it does. Starting with a set of Mac long tub headers flowing straight into a Mac pro chamber and finally flowing into some Borla stingers. Now I know what your thinking. Your thinking its just your average bolt on mach right? WRONG! To finish it off Jake went with a NX kit pushing a 175 shot. Yes thats right. A 175 shot.

Future plans are either building the lower end with custom N/A cams and a bigger shot of juice, or going with a Hellion single turbo kit. serious weight reduction, 6pt cage, drag springs, A SPEC Dual Disc Clutch, and a Viper Spec T-56. So as you can see, Jake (FM1R) has done a fine, fine job with this mach 1. I think I speak for all of Modded Mustangs when we say congratulations Jake, and your car is one of the sexiest around.

Remember playing with your little hotwheel as a kid? Remember those supercars that you played with and could not wait to see in real life. Well this car is one of them. Ford GT90, Ring any bells? To me this is the baddest car ever built. And I’m almost sure that you feel the same way.

Under the hood of this super car rests the baddest engine Ford has ever conceived. It’s a 5.9L V12 4V quad turbo engine producing 720hp and 660 ft-lbs of torque. (That is a 122 hp per Liter!) This thing puts out so much power that the exhaust is claimed to get hot enough to melt the body panels. So it requires ceramic tiles similar to those found in space shuttles to prevent this from happening. Needless to say, this is one hot ride.

This engine ran through the ceramic exhaust could push its 3200lb honeycomb-section aluminum chassis and carbon fiber body to 60 mph in an est. 3.1 sec via the 5 Speed transmission and 19 inch 355/30 rear tires 100 mph could also be reached in 6.1 secs. And those high speeds were tamed (Sort of) by the spoiler that popped up at high speeds. 1/4 mile times were never released and estimates vary from 10.9-11.5 top speed also remains a mystery but estimates vary from 238-250+ rumors that 100 of these would be produced and sold never came true and it remains locked up in the Ford vault now.

This car also paved the way for much of the future design that would be employed in cars like the Mustang and the Ford GT.

If you would like to drive it you can, well not really. It is one of the cars that can be used in the game Need for Speed II, Gran Turismo 2, Sega GT 2002, Ford Racing 2, Ford Racing 3, Ford Street Racing, Project Gotham Racing 3, Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA, TOCA Race Driver 2, and Ford vs. Chevy.

Who doesn’t love a clean SN95? I know I do, and I know you do too. It seems like these cars are becoming more and more of a rare occurrence now. But this one takes the cake. Diablostang has one of the cleanest and baddest SN95’s out there. His 1996 Mustang Cobra is one sweet ride, and it showed in your votes.

The owner of this sweet ride is Kyle Will. Kyle works with RE Performance and is getting started with his own business. But his true passion is building this mean SN95. The engine is currently being built with a .020 overbore, CP – 18CC Dished Forged aluminum pistons, Manley H Beam rods, a Teksid block, port matched intake, IMRC deletes, and all together with stock heads and cams. Needless to say this is going to be one bad ass motor.

This thing is going to be force fed through a Vortech supercharger system with 15 psi. The Vortech is equipped with an 8 Rib conversion, Procharged blow off valve, and a custom front mount intercooler setup. Supplying all of the fuel comes through two Inline ad Intake 255lPH fuel pumps. To let all of this extra air out Kyle went with BBK Longtubes and a custom x pipe running through straight through mufflers. Kyle wanted to shed some pounds and rotational mass so he went with an aluminum driveshaft. Making sure all of this power gets to the ground Kyle went with a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. He also decided to go with a Canton deep oilpan and a Canton windage tray.

This thing really knows how to get the power to the ground. Its not all motor, it also has a bad ass suspension setup. Kyle went with the Griggs GR-40 Roadrace suspension package which comes with: Tubular k-member, Tubular A-arms, Koni coilovers, shocks and struts, a torque arm, and a panhard bar. To make sure Kyle can stop with all of this power he used Brembo 4 piston brake calipers, DBA slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and on the way is a brake duct kit. He also has installed a MM 4 point rollbar with harness and camera mount, through the floor subframe connectors, 4.10 gears, 31 spline axles and 17×9 Cobra rims.

So as you can see this is one sweet ride. And it makes plenty of power. Kyle plans on upgrading his heads and cams soon to squeeze even more power out of this sweet ride. Good luck to you Kyle and we are proud to have you our April Ride of the Month!

So last month we had a badass notch that was built for the track. This month we mixed things up a bit and ended up with a badass street cruiser. Swervo’s Mach 1 turns heads wherever he goes, even at Modded Mustangs. I know I am guilty of staring at a picture of his car for a few minutes before I realized what I was doing. This is truly a Ride of The Month car.

When Dewayne Servo isn’t deployed serving his country in the USMC, he is busy finding new things to put on his car. Before long he is going to have to start replacing performance parts with better performance parts because he has almost already ran through the entire car. As you can see, the outside of his Mach 1 is outfitted with 18×9 and 18×10 deep dish bullitt wheels to give it a very nice stance. It also has a very nice addition with the 01 cobra bumper painted to match perfectly and gives it a nice aggressive look. The 03-04 cobra trucklid, spoiler, and sideskirts finish it off with the cobra additions. Unique Automotive Designs stepped in and helped out with their custom airbrushed center caps and pony -emblems. Many more cosmetic upgrades are outfitted on this Mach to definitely make it a one-of-a-kind.

You can’t have a Mach 1 that looks this sweet on the outside without some sweet parts under the hood. Well, “sweet” is an understatement when Dewayne pops the hood on this car. The first thing that is going to blow you away are the twin, thats right, twin HP 57mm turbos. Then you move down the line and you see the two 38mm Tial wastegates and two bosch billet BOV’s. When you see all of this, you’re going to be spending more time picking your jaw up off the ground than staring at the car. To control the boost on the car, Swervo has a turbosmart boost controller to make sure every thing is in tune. And to make sure this beast is getting enough fuel, Dewayne put on a pair of 03 cobra fuel pumps and fuel tank, also with a set of 60lb injectors and a Kenne bell BAP. He lets all of this breath through a SLP loudmouth cat-back. And he makes sure he rips through every gear perfectly with a MGW Short throw. Other mods include a PHP intake spacer, Spec stage 2+ clutch and flywheel and a 90 MM MAF.

Dewayne wanted to make sure this car stayed glued to the road with this much power by installing some H&R Super sport rear springs with Maximum Motorsport caster/camber plates. Maximum motorsports stepped up again on this ride with some extreme duty LCAs and full length subframe connectors. Dewayne decided to go with Steeda on the upper control arms. The car also has a QA1 tubular K member and QA1 A-arms. Swervo once again went with QA1 when he decided to go with their front coilover kit with 14′ 200lb springs. Last but not least, he went with Tokico 5 way adjustable drag struts and a Steeda bumpsteer kit to make this thing slice through curves like butter.

When Dewayne gets back from deployment he plans on installing a built short block, a return style fuel system and a T56 or TKO600 tranny. We cant wait Dewayne, and make sure you stay safe over there!

So how many of you love a nice and clean foxbody? How about a nice and clean foxbody with enough bark to scrape the back bumper down the 1320? I know I do. If you don’t then… well of course you do.

One of the fastest cars of the members of Modded Mustangs was once parked in the driveway of Darrell Reinhold. When Darrell isn’t busy building hard core race cars he works as a locomotive engineer. As you can see by the extensive mod list of this 1990 Mustang LX notchback, Darrell certainly knows what he is doing when it comes to mustangs.

Darrell’s notchback is sporting a 425 cubic inch small block. Thats right, small block, this is a shout out for you guys who scream “no replacement for displacement.” Starting off at the intake, the mustang has a Edelbrock Super Victor ported by M2 Race systems with a Holley HP1000 Carb. The heads used on this beast were Trickflow R series CNC 225s with a solid roller cam. All of this pays off to a sporty 13.06:1 compression ratio. The air is released through Furo Racecraft’s custom 2″ stepped to 2 1/8″ headers. Past the headers sats a Furo Racecraft 3 1/2″ x-pipe with flowmaster mufflers to give this dog a mean bark. The 1974 production 351W block made 702 ponies on an engine dyno.

The car was welded and braced 8.8 with Mark Williams gun drilled 35 spline axles, lightweight gun drilled spool, 9 inch ends, etc. It was also Mini tubbed with 28×10.5 Mickey Thompson slicks and 26×4.5 Mickey Thompson front runners. Once again Furo Racecraft stepped up to the plate with their custom SFI 25.5 roll cage. It also had Team Z Motorsports double adjustable upper control arms, offset adjustable lower control arms and an anti roll device. The transmission was a PA Super Comp C4 with a Coan 5800 stall converter. All of this hard work paid off with a best time of 9.36 at 143 with a 1.32 60 foot.

In late 2007 Darrell tried a new combo. He slapped on a CHI Commander 4.0 intake an 1150 dominator and a new cam. But just after only 4 passes a valve broke ruining Darrell’s season. The best pass came off of the pass with the failure and it ending up being a 9.40 at 142 with a 1.27 60 foot. The valve broke right after the 1000 ft mark so you can only image what the time would have been if it was healthy.

Sadly, Darrell sold the car as a rolling chassis. But he wants to let all of you know to keep your eyes peeled for his newest project. A street driven 89 LX with a 425 cu in the nines. You can tell by this his old notchback that a LX in Darrell’s hands is bound to be one of the baddest on the planet! Congratulations to Darrell once again on winning February’s Ride of The Month!
