Rumors Of Shelby Closing Have Been Exaggerated

Shelby AutomotiveIn the automotive business when information about a rumor spreads and looks viable it usually is, but we are happy to report that there is at least one rumor that’s not true. Shelby Automotive is not going out of business.

This rumor has been making the rounds around the internet this past week. The speculation surrounding the rumor revolves around Carroll Shelby’s health, or lack thereof, as the key factor in closing up shop.

Not true says Jim Owens, the VP of Marketing and Communications at Shelby Automotives,  assured Mustang enthusiasts that they have no intention of shutting down and that the company is running smoothly as ever. For further reassurement, Owens says their facility in Las Vegas just built its fiftieth Shelby GT of the day. Also, Shelby is not likely to back down on commitments that have made with Ford to build the Shelby GT and GT500KR.
