Need help changing my T5 Trans from electronic to mechanical..
The trans is from a 2004 v6 and it's going in a 94 gt.. What exactly do I have to change in the tail housing to make the newer t5 work with the older mechanical gauges.. Any help is appreciated
Total pain in the ass as far as swapping the tail housings.. The worst part is its hard to drill the hole in the output shaft that is needed for the clip that holds the speedo gear.. Best thing you could do is install the trans how it is rt now, make a plate w the correct holes to use that trans with your factory trans crossmember (trans mount on trans is 2" further back than your cars factory trans), and then wire up a Dallas speed cal to your factory speedo equipment, calibrate it, and you're good.. I just done the exact swap youre talking about only I bought a Stifflers tubular adjustable trans crossmember to make the adapt all that much easier.
