Honestly none of them. There are better deals that aren't so beat to crap.

I picked up my 04 GT for 10k+ tax 2 years ago with 32k miles with a steeda catback on it.

You should be able to find a 99-04 with <65k miles for 6-7k easily. 5 speed hard top is the quickest combo as well.

I would go with #1 or #5. It depends on if you're looking for a car to build yourself (#5) or if you're looking to buy a car that's already been started or closer to your final goal (#1).

I personally like building it. Putting in the blood, sweat, and tears. I also like the New Edge body style more. I would choose #5. But if I bought #1, I would still be happy.

I think this HIGHLY depends on where you are located. Where I am, you would be lucky to find a 04 GT <65k for less than $9k. When I totaled mine (03 GT, 5 speed, hardtop, w/ 66k miles) 8 months ago the insurance gave me over $12k for it.

Here, if you found a 04 GT w/ <65k miles and it was less than $7k, the body would be in terrible shape.

As far as I am aware, the cost of Mustangs in my area is among the highest in the country.

Look around, you will be amazed with what you can find.

I would just stick with your 98 and just build the engine and invest in some other stuff. You already have the power adder and the only thing that you don't have is the PI heads and intake. The fuel rail then, if not changed already is your biggest issue just because of the fuel pressure regulator. You already have the car, power adder and other stuff so why not just make it support a little more and have fun? Just my .02

I would rather go with the new edge mustangs 99-2004 style, they are low in price from on there, just ask alot of questions and even get a mechanic to check them out if you know one that will do that for you (even if you have to pay them maybe $20)...the 1999-2000 gt's are faster out the box than the 1994-1998 or whatever. then you can use the rest of the money and maybe get a supercharger, turbo or whatever you want to make them $4,xxx, gt's alittle faster.

Apparently South Central Indiana has higher cost.

99 GT, $6700, 111k miles:
99 GT Mustang 35th Anniversary Edition

99 GT, $5600, 150k miles:
1999 MUSTANG GT SUPER CLEAN!

01 GT, $6500, 130k miles:
01 mustang gt

01GT, $6900, 97k miles:
2001 MUSTANG GT EXTRA CLEAN

The best I could find: 03 GT w/ REBUILT TITLE, $6k, 62k miles:
2003 mustang gt

Apparently the cost of a good New Edge GT where you are is roughly the same as the cost of a rebuilt New Edge GT here.

Here's more around what I see: $10,500 w/ 50k miles and $9,500 w/ 66k miles.
2003 Ford Mustang GT Deluxe; GT Premium RED
2003 mustang gt centennial edition

It can vary man. All I know is that winter is coming, and for some of us that means people are gonna have trouble selling. If you play your cards right, you can find yourself a good deal. These cars are getting pretty old. Not to mention the GT has been improved 3 times since this new edge generation. These cars just don't hold value unless you have a ultra low mile clean 04 that was an anni edition trim. I would not pay a dime more than 9k for one. Don't get me wrong, they are great fun cars but the market for them just flat out blows. I mean you can find 03 termis with high miles for 15-16k now if you look hard enough!
