yeah im sticking to 2v. I can't afford to go 4v. Not enough interest in this area in
Canada. It seems like pushrod or nothing haha. its a long process build. of hopes to putting a 200 shot on after. Then after suspension is dialed in I may go single turbo with 100 shot to a certain RPM. Im gonna try to get the Logan mani, and quite possibly the MMR race Tf's. god damn heads are gonna cost as much as my damn block.

go 3v, even stock the destroy a 2v and a ported 2v is not much better than a stock 3v. Port the 3v and you can get over 300cfm on the intake and almost 200cfm on the exhaust.

a stock 3v head on your build will prob do better than a ported 2v, unless you go with a serious port job on the 2v

I'm just ognna go with the serious port job on TF heads. Easier to just bolt on and go. Maybe later down the road I will upgrade. or just build a race truck. I always liked the look of those 66 chev's...

you can get 3v heads cheap, plus FRPP has a 7,000rpm intake for like 600 bucks, can use 2v harness/pcm, just get a simple adapter kit and bam.

i'm hopping to rev it out to 7500. But i agree with you 86er 3v would be best. Jst not enough interest in this area for these cars so its a little hard to get parts for.

Just reread what you said.
Is it really that easy to go 3v?

Im surprised those 3v swaps are not more popular, ive only seen like 2 threads about a complete swap.

You pick up logan motorsports adapter kit, allows you to put 2v headers on the 3v head, you need a cobra/mach 1 tb and cable, lock the cam phasers and thats it. You can do all of the above for prob 5-600 bucks, er well I guess thats like 5 moose, 6 geese and 2 beavers in canada, but still not that bad

I took my car to 7500 during the tuning process and I was getting spark blow out that high. I was good till about 73-7400, but I am still on stock ignition too. Just throwing it out there. These heads flow very well.

Is there any wiring that needs to be done? I know for instance the 4v swap needs the polarity switched and a few wires extended. I've never really looked into this swap at all, but was curious if the wiring harness can stay stock. I assume the stock timing chains will work, too.

Reps. Good info, I never though of doing a 3V swap. Would be pretty cool.

Only thing you might have to extend and thats a might are the IAT/TPS wires, because its going from the center of the engine, to the front of the engine, but Id be willing to bet, if you just undo/cut a few plastic clips/zip ties, it will reach. Other wise its all stock 2v harness/pcm. You might have to use 2v sensor etc in the 3v engine but thats no biggie
