Arrow 02 gt or fox

My first post new member. Looking for some helP I have an 02 gt that I bought last year and I have money saved for mods but they add up in price pretty quick. I was thinking that for the money I could spend to upgrade the 02 I could by a fox with all the bOlt ons already for the same price. Looking for opinions my intentions are to have a hot street car to cruise in and tinker with and also track run occasionally. Thanks for all input.

the fox from the start has 205 hp compared to the 260hp of the 02 the fox is lighter though and whats all the boltons thats on the fox and whats the power output of it? I say build what you have unless you're dead set and just want a fox.

I would keep the 02 everytime because I like the body style a lot better. The fox is lighter. If it has all the bolt ons already it may have been beat. I would keep the car that you know.

Dont buy a car that someone else built. It's no fun that way. Do the work yourself even if it costs you a little more. You'll know everything is done to your liking and done right.

not a specific year but on craigs list theres a good amount of 88-91 foxes. I love the looks of my 02 but im in a pre 96 emissions state and figured that ie would be easier to make power in a fox considering that. craigs list has foxes with headers, exhaust, for reasonable prices to me. I have like 3500.00 to work with for mods and im completely stock right now

Some ppl regret spending here and there to get small gains from bolt ons for the 281 4.6 v8 they respond well in stock form to low boost 5-10psi

For sure the Fox compared to the 02 GT. The reason I say this is the Fox is by far cheaper to mod than modular. Pick the right Fox, add blower V3, heads, exhaust, injectors, maf, fuel pump(s), gears, ect and for about 5-6K you can make 450-500 to the wheels.

The same mods will cost a little more than that and you will be limited to 400-450 and I would say the teh correct stock 5.0 shortblock will at least match that and probably take a little more.

The 5.0 with heads/cam/intake/blower just has a better torque curve all over, IMO.

Now I love my built 4.6 2v with 20# but the Fox would be a cool ride for inexpensive.

I thought the word was those old 5.0s have a rep of splitting in two at those power numbers?!

nothing else besides spark plugs for like $16, fresh oil change. the kit comes Complete. all you need is a tuner to get it tuned after you get it installed. the additional things that ppl get are guages to minitor things. gauges are not a must have but it helps you keep an eye on things.

I have a Fox as well, Just put your money in the 02. The Fox sounds bad ass, but I have seen to many blocks cracked and broken from just under 500 HP. I will be putting a 2V in my FOX when the time comes.
