Strange port under steering wheel. But its not the ODB port.

Hey Guys,

I have a strange port to the right side of my steering wheel, any ideas to what it could be? I just bought my 00' Mustang GT about a month ago. I attached the links to the images as I could not attach them for some reason.

Definitely aftermarket. Not sure exactly what it is but I'm sure someone will

that would a funny.

Do you have any aftermarket remote start or alarm? I know the underside of my dash is a clusterfeef from all the wiring from the remote start with ports and buttons and wires and huge black boxes with wires running everywhere.

And I don't think I have any aftermarket remote starts or alarms. Just the regular keyfob for unlock/locking purposes.

Maybe a pic of the actual plug, without the cover. So we can see what might be plug-inable. :eek

did you trace it back to the source? That might give you some more clues. It is not stock, that is for sure.

As far as WHAT it is.... just really depends on if anybody has had the device/whatever that uses that plug haha

Is that a plug cover or something plugged into it? WAAAAAAAAY back in the day we used to install chips like that to disable the vehicle.... aka anti-theft devices. If it's got some type of pill or chip in it remove it and try to crank it. If it doesn't crank I've answered your question.
