Clutch and misc help 5.1

With major help from a fellow member, I am picking up a 5.1 forged strocker motor with vortech t trim supercharger.

I've got a stock oem clutch with maybe 3k miles. And I'll need a new clutch but don't know what to get and which will fit. Can anyone suggest me a clutch kit. I'll pick up frpp tob and pb. Will I need upgraded clutch fork too?

Also, I'll need a fuel pump and maybe hats and bap(starting to research sc set ups now)

Daily driver, with some drag strip visits. Told the motor is making ~425. With stock heads and cams. I will have the HP292 cams installed on new motor so I should be around ~450-470..I'm hoping.

Reason for another motor:

Cam followers exploded

Bent trigger wheel(I accidentally put on backwards)

Sweet deal, I would go with a 03/04 Cobra OEM clutch.

It should. They both have an 8 bolt flywheel (or 6 I forget) you could be right. Or a king cobra clutch would be good.

Would this work?
Exedy Mach 500 Stage 3 Clutch (86-Mid 01 GT; 93-98 Cobra) 7950 - Free Shipping!

I plan on getting up to 500 hp in a few months after I get different heads
What's the hp rating on stock flywheel?

Im not sure if there is a HP rating on the stock flywheel?? Ive never heard of that to be honest.

Im not sure about the Exedy clutchs. Never really read about them. If your looking for 500+rwhp, I would look into a Centerforce Dual friction, or Ram Powergrip...

Nice setup! When my clutch take a shit I'm going with centerforce dual friction, I've heard nothing but good about it.

With that setup you might want to think about getting a beater dd!

The division x 340lph pump I think would work. Maybe a BAP on top of that if you dont want to go returnless.

Just be careful. The Centerforce DF clutch grabs hard. So if your launching with some bias plys, theres a chance youll snap the input shaft. If I had known this, I would have either upgraded my input shaft when the tranny was out, or I would have gone with an OEM 03/04 Cobra clutch.

If your looking for 500rwhp, 42lb injectors max around 515-525rwhp. So it may be a good idea to roll with some Siemen Deka 60lb injectors. Leaves you with more then enough room to spare.

Fuel pump...all of them are hit or miss. I purposley got a Ford GT supercar pump over the Focus 255lph pump so I wouldnt need a BAP, me and like others maxed it at about 370rwhp. Some make it to 425rwhp with no boost a pump.

The Division X Stryker pump, from what my tuner said requires 13.5v. But at WOT, the alternator shuts off...so theres a chance you can max it sooner.

Since your going to most likley be making more then 500rwhp, I would get a used Cobra hat with twin pumps. That will make it to about 440-450rwhp no boost a pump and about 600rwhp with a BAP.

03/04 Cobra clutch is identical in size to the 3650 clutch.... 11". We all know that I preach the Cobra clutch but to make it work in your setup you're gonna need to go from your 10.5" flywheel to an 11" flywheel to fit that clutch. You can run a 10.5" clutch on an 11" wheel, but not an 11" clutch on a 10.5" wheel. I don't know for sure(because I haven't tried it personally)... but I would assume the T45 bell will hold the 11" wheel if you wanna switch to the Cobra setup. If not, you're gonna need to stick with a 10.5" clutch to match your T45 style flywheel.

you're going to exceed the limits of the cobra clutch imo, my buddy has a cobra, clutch got replaced with oem 10k miles before he bought it and the car was stock, now he put 5k miles on it and within the last 1k miles put an exhaust, intake, pulley, and tune and the clutch is starting to slip, he's at rougly 450whp. I dont think it would last long at 500ish hp.

IMO go with a mcleod clutch. doesn't have to be a dual setup, i've heard great things about their new street pro clutches.

as far as fuel, imo go with a single stryker 340 or one of the aeromotive stealth's. that should be sufficient for the first round of mods atleast, then they'll be able to tell you once it's tuned how the duty cycle is and if it'll make it for more or if you'll need a bap.

That sounds like driver error to me. Even a terribly weak clutch should last longer than that. I run a stock Cobra pressure plate with a Centerforce D/F disc and carry both front tires without issues. Anyone wearing a clutch out that quickly i suffering from poor clutch adjustment or poor driving 90% of the time unless it's a track only car like mine that may see 1000 miles a year.
