Well I raced my friends new 2001 m5 with 400hp, I put my slicks on and pulled him one car all the way to mid 3rd gear, then he walked me slowly but those things are highway pullers. Beating a 90k $ car when it was new vs a 27k car is fun , these 2v are definitly underrated and people calling them dogs just makes me want to mod it more

2v's have a nice balance of power and weight. They don't have a lot of peak horsepower, but they don't weigh much either.

just like to point out that the 2014 f150 4x4 with the 5.0 is a little over 5,000 lb with 365 horsepower 0.073 power to weight ratio and its gearing is for towing. 2002 gt 260 horsepower 3250 curb weight, power to weight ration 0.08? where are all these 4x4 truck beating these new edges? spec wise im not seeing it. Not sure why people keep saying these cars are so bad, there as light as a feather.

---------- Post added at 05:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:45 PM ----------

Edit: my mistake the 5.0 is actually 360 horsepower

well i guess in reality anything can be really slow or fast depending on who is driving. i will bite and say these 2v are not the fastest certainly not , but they are very respectful. Another thing is perception alot of people i know who ride with me think i have a monster but in reality i just got a full bolt on motor.

Pretty much, driver mod is a must in these cars , when I first got my car I had trouble shifting it and ran low 15s

Once I got use to its 13s all day

I hardly consider 3,250 pounds to be a featherweight. It's still heavier than the fox body before it. Power/weight ratio isn't everything either. I've seen the new F150 ecoboost V6 go low 14s bone stock and dip into the 13s with just a tune.

Let's compare the dark age GT to the other fun cars out there from it's time...

2002 Mustang GT - 260hp and 3,250lbs
2002 Camaro SS - 325hp and 3,450lbs
2002 Lancer Evo VII - 276hp and 3,080lbs (and AWD)
2002 BMW M3 - 333hp and 3,410lbs
2002 Honda S2000 - 240hp and 2,830lbs

while were comparing those cars of its time lets also compare how much the price is different between those aswell. As far as the foxbody being light it is but not by much. And nothing against the fox guys but i think the fox platform has the worst body style. the 4.6 2v is a great long living reliable motor. taxi cabs and Lincoln limos have no problems throwing 400k miles on one of these motors

I still dont get where all this hate is coming from you would think these 4.6's are fucking civics or something around here.

S2ks aren't really comparable.

Yah, the 2V isn't the best engine in the world. But I've never had any problems with it and it performs damn well for a $6k car. The cars on your list all cost significantly more than that btw.

I dd this whore and drive 930 miles between home and school at least twice a year. I don't regret the 4.10s at all.

Do you shift 1 , 2, 3 or skip gears with the 4.10s ?
