He told me they had it tuned at mustang week. ? I'm thinking the cams he claimed are simply pi cams even tho he claimed stage 1. It's quiet at idle but it idles very low. If the tach is even right. It wakes up and gets raspy tho just off idle. I'll have to get a video. I really don't care If it's modded like he stated cause I'd rather do it myself so I know exactly what I have. It astonishes me how people are cause I was polite and said straight up, just don't lie to me! I'd rather know the truth regardless of how many problems there are so I know what I'm working with. I knew I wanted the car, so long as it drove alright cause it was cheap, had a back seat, and I was ready for a mustang. He wanted $6500 and claimed to be a mechanic and said it had ten grand in motor and trans and ONLY needs the parking brake bolted down. Well soon as he showed up I was shaking my head. He had all four directional tires on backwards. (turned out each toe had over 65 psi!) Every one of them were different too. The body kit was actually nice but not finished. The back seat wasn't bolted in and the were no buckles in the back! The panel by the back seat(like head rest) was loose and of coarse the plastic tabs were broke. It has the mach stereo but it wasn't hooked up. (the add definitely mentioned a full stereo) The box in the trunk was just sitting there. Long story short the Amp in it was blown, along with almost every speaker in the car. The stereo was out of the dash and the bezel was broke. Came with spare bezel but for a different year with the 3 holes at bottom which didn't fit. I ended up putting in a new kenwood ( Bluetooth /awesome). 700$ in stereo and Rockford fosgate speakers. It's plastidipped to hide the bright green body kit. He didn't use enough plastidip so it will be a nightmare to get off. Lol it came with a shit ton of parts. He said it was his baby and he did all this work but couldn't tell me anything about the parts, tune, timing, compression, brand names, or whether the cams were degreed, nothing. It was leak free and the drivetrain is extremely clean. I do believe it was swapped or rebuilt i just don't believe he did it. Fluids looked great except the orange coolant! Ugh. Runs great and I love keeping it up past 4 grand. But not fast like my last few cars. It might be my imagination but I kinda thought it ran better before I changed the 02 censors . In just gonna have to get a tune or tuner and figure it out myself. I ended up getting it for 4grand and after prolly spending another 2 it's doing good. I know it has pi heads and intake but I really want to find out if the heads are actually port and polished like he swears. If not, I'll prolly punch him in the face for being such a liar. It still has stock injectors, stock throttle body and plenum, and stock exhaust manifolds. He said when it was on the dyno it had all those things aftermarket(lt, 78mm bbk, ect) but he sold them and put stock back on to purchase a twin Turbo kit. Then his wife got pregnant so he needed a SUV. I so wanted to believe him knowing full well that there's no way a bolt on gt was making his proclaimed numbers. Especially with all this stock stuff. Smh. But, I personally like the car and wanted one to play with so I took a chance. ... Wow, thanks for listening. In case anyone wonders, my last three daily drivers were a 76 stingray, 71 Nova, 64 gmc Swb fleetside. Ive learned a lot over the last 6 years playing with the sbc but I wanted to switch it up. I always loved my 02 f150 fx4 I had previously to them so... Mustang.
I really appreciate all the help from the forum. I'm just soaking it all in. I have a few things I won't use. Maybe I can help others that way.
