balancer removal

So who has the trick to remove this? I have tried an impact to get the center bolt off, and she isn't budging the slightest. I tried it both ways hoping to loosen up what ever build up of rust or whatever BS has worked its way in there. It does come off counter clockwise when you are looking at the front of the motor I assume. Cant remember off the top of my head though.

Yes, counter Clock wise. Put the car in 3rd if a stick, use a large breaker bar with a pipe on the end

Its an auto. I did realize my impact is only good to 250lbs of torque. Getting another one that can go to 800lbs from a buddy. Thanks for the +1 on the rotation Fat.

Lefty loosie.

I usually end up using a 2ft breaker with another 1-2ft of cheater pipe, with the car in 6th, e-brake on, and wheels chocked.

Counterclockwise is the correct direction for removal, you'll need a good quality impact those impact with little torque wont get it done...

On installation make sure you put a dab of sealant on the crank key.
