Amber tail lights

Hey guy, my new neighbor (little old lady) has a 99 cobra. I am planning to see if she will trade me the ambers for a stock set with a little cash on top.
Anyway, what goes into swapping from amber tail lights to stock gt ones? Do i need to swap the harness as well? Is it just plug and play?

You can swap the harness or modify the factory harness.

The pigtail from the GT harness will need to be spliced onto the Cobra harness. You will also need to splice into the wiring loom in the trunk to power the brake lights, and install a new flasher unit as well. I followed the two videos below when I wired mine up.

I don't get why everybody likes them so much.

I think the stock ones look better being all one color.

I agree. I'll contact them and see why the hell they're not making them. Then everyone with a real set of ambers will hate me because prices will plummet haha.

EDIT: Scratch that, I just emailed Depo directly.

Are you going to swindle the old lady? Or let her know the actual value of them. I hope for humanity's sake you aren't going to try to take advantage of her

Appreciate the info guys.
And no lol i'm not a scum bag. She said shes selling the car soon anyway so i deicided against it. I didn't want to hurt her sale value by putting gt lights on it.

People want to be "different" and "Unique". Kind of stupid IMO to pay 500$ for a set of slightly different lights.

Have a cobra, didn't have to buy :p I just say that because I personally think the lights look better than regular ones, ambers are cool.

There's a set near me and the guy is asking 600. Not sure why they are worth so much or why people ask that much I should say.
