subframe connector time

I know this is usually one of the first mods that is done but with having to pull all the interior to install the cage I figure it's time. What brands should I stay away from.

02 roush turbo forged and built
mhs stage 3 heads cms 2.5 turbo cams
CG T6 hot side billet BW S478 with race cover
Dyno numbers coming

I don't know of any specific brands to avoid, but be sure to purchase full length connectors. The standard length ones won't do as well of a job at stiffening the chassis. Maximum Motorsports FLSFC's have long been regarded as some of the best, but Stifflers, Steeda, and Kenny Brown all make quality pieces as well.

I went with Maximum Motorsports and they're pretty good. They fit awesome , look good feels better than stock. But I kinda regret not going all out with Stifflers Fit System. It's supposed to be the best. Chassis Stiffening FIT System 1994-2004 SN95 Mustang GT, Bullitt, or Cobra

Lol. Just looking at the pics in the link above, I'm regretting my choice. So many jacking points and I bet that combined with your planned roll cage would make the chassis stiffer than a 18 year old on Viagra!

I've got the MM SFCs. They fit excellently, made a ton of difference. I like the overall idea of the Stiffler's system, but I wonder if you're doing a cage, will the extra cost/weight/complexity of it really be that beneficial. There are a ton of ways you can tie a cage in with the SFCs and really improve the rigidity of the car. Have you looked into doing any connections through the floor? One another note, I went with MM because I knew that I eventually wanted to put in a torque arm. You can make the MM Tq/arm work with anything I'm sure, but I figured I might as well save myself that headache of trying to make two different brands work together.

I have Edelbrock. Strong and well made. But generally I recommend Maximum Motorsports because if someone wants to change their suspension even more and the MM torque arm is designed to work with their FLSFC. My Edelbrock FLSFC's are 1/8" larger than MM's. It might work or it might not.

Since you are putting in a roll cage that might not be a concern for you.

Yep, MM all the way, just make sure they're installed correctly, the car should be level with the suspension loaded.

I have the Steeda version and they fit perfectly. They also come with the torque box reinforcement plate which makes them stronger and a bit easier to weld in.

I'm sure the MM ones are just as good though. I was looking at both and it came down to getting a better price on the Steeda ones. I have tons of parts from both companies and they are by far 2 of the best out there.

I will look at the steeda I like the fact thy have tq box supports.
Does anyone know if MM have tq box supports.

The shop wants to put through the floor subframe connectors in but I don't want to cut the car up.

Anybody have any experience with the SVE from LMR

MM or Steeda. SVE suspension products are junk. Stifflers doesnt really add anything for a drag car.

Just make sure you get full length. I run MM flsfc's on my Cobra and my Fox. Very happy with them.

With a cage your kind of cutting up the car anyways. Go through the floor subframes with the outriggers for the hoop to weld to.

Let me rephrase I'm putting in 8pt roll bar so not much cutting just welding.
I think I have narrowed it down to steeda Team z and MM . Team Z seems to be the strongest

This is a good idea. You'll need them at some point and if you're doing them with the SFC's, it saves you from having to take the interior apart twice for welding.

I did mine at different times and wish I had thought ahead.

Simply welding the torque box seams is enough for any car making less than 800rwhp. The interior needs to get pulled anyway so if youre more comfortable with bolting in and welding the battle boxes then it is a good time to do them. Just a little more money for parts and labor.

People have set their interiors on fire when welding the torque boxes. I had mine done by a chassis builder so I don't know if he pulled the interior or not.
