Oil pickup tube

If everything goes right I'm going to button up my engine tomorrow. I have a windsor block and oil pan. I have both oil pickup tubes does it matter which one I use. Is there a spacer that goes between the block and the tube.

I've done a few Crown vic to mustang swaps and the pickup tube did not fit from one to the other. The issue is that you have to use the mustang oil pan and the pickup tube that goes with it. Pickup tube and the oil pan will not interchange.
Best to test fit and make sure you use the mustang oil pan and the tube that came with that pan. Learned this the hard way.

They are both mustang engines. The windsor is out of a 99. I have heard the dip stick tubes are different also

DS tubes are different from Vics to Mustangs. Don't think they matter if switching from Mustang to Mustang. Again, it's best to test fit and you'll be fine.

I would use the oil pan and tube that came with the engine since there is no benefit whatsoever in using the other one.. You can take some measurements to see how far down in the an that the bottom of the tube will sit...

Do not forget the O ring that goes in the oil pump end of the tube where the pick up tube bolt into the oil pump.
