Doing some spring cleaning and I'm getting tired of looking at that spliced mess Vortech makes you do on the upper radiator hose to fit around the blower inlet.
Anyone ever replace their hose with a longer hose from another vehicle?
If so, do you have a vehicle or part number? I don't really have a local parts place that will let me hunt through their hoses to find a match and I'm not having good look searching the internet.
Here's what my set up looks like. Battery is in the trunk so I swapped the stock overflow tank for one out of an 05 (I think) and installed it where the battery tray was. Now the whole front of the engine is open and that spliced hose line is front and center. Killing my OCD.
Quick question. Why is your power steering fluid blue? I thought our systems were designed to use mercon, trans fluid, which is red. My curiosity is peaked.
Check out the online Dayco catalog. If you have some measurements you can browse through it to see what would work. They list out the appearance and lengths of their hoses pretty well. That's what I did to piece together my abomination.
Just a follow up. Went down a rabbit hole of sorts but ended up finding a hose that worked. The one I used was a Gates #22807 in case anyone else is interested.
