So this is what I've decided on...

http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/w...layErrorView_Y

Also...

Carrying Case, Night sights factory installed, 3 magazines. I'm also going to check on a mag safety.

I'm leaning to buy the following for ammo, for CC.
Federal HST 230 gr JHP
Speer Gold Dot 230 gr JHP

Anything anyone would add? Finally, would standard ammo from wal-mart be ok for standard practice? I'd really hate to shoot shit ammo if I don't have too. I'm undecided on where to get a cleaning kit atm. Dad told me, wally world sells a decent starter cleaning kit, but I haven't heard much on it.

I was going .40 cal, but the price difference was 40 bucks.

PS...I won't be deciding on a holster yet. I'm really hoping I can try one out at the shop to see how it fits before hand.

Great gun, might be a little hard to conceal though.

Both of those ammo choices will be fine, they are both proven. I personally carry the gold dots in mine.

If I were you I would shoot both to make sure they cycle fine, and then go with whatever you can get easier or whichever is cheaper. Don't rule out Winchester Ranger T's or Remington Golden Sabers either.

And yes walmart ammo is fine, just dirty.

If you are wanting to try on a crossbreed/kingtuk type holster good luck trying to find one in a store.

them walmart cleaning kits (the plain white trays with the multiple wire brushes/cloth pieces, 3 piece rod set) are shit IMO.id go for one of the wooden casses that have multiple tools but your probably better off getting a bore snake for a .45, or (what i liked) they sell a little red handle container that has .22/9mm/.40/.45 wire brushes , and cleans up to 8in barrells. and it all stores itself inside the red handle/contaner. also a bag of cloth cleaning patches and some decent CLP.

Good choice on the gun, and ammo. If it were me, I'd definitely pass on the mag safety. Walmart Federal, Winchester White Box, or Remington UMC are all good to go.

The Hornady XTP bullet isn't bad but definitely isn't a Gold Dot or HST.

I personally get my ammo for the range from Georgia Arms. I order it when I get a need to restock and usually add some in that friends need to get the most for the money in shipping. They also come to the local gun shows so I can save on the shipping.

+1. Golds dots, HSTs, Rangers, and Golden sabers are all better than the XTPs.

I honestly would choose the XTPs over the Golden Sabers. In all the testing I have seen, they are prone to jacket separation.

+1, I say definetely pass on the mag safety.

When in doubt, go by the rule of dog...
If you can't eat it or f*ck it, just piss on it and walk away.
