Hearing protection

What do you guys use for hearing protection? I have just been using a set of battery powered selective decibel blockers (for lack of a better name) but they have started acting up and not been dependable for my last two trips out.

Any good recommendations?

Whenever I shoot my AR under a canopy at the range I have to wear ear plugs and muffs otherwise my ears ring for hours.

I use Champion electronic ear pro. They were only 25 or 30 bucks and work great. I could never go back to a foam insert after using them.

One of these guys does the trick when shooting clay in the winter
Mad Bomber Hats & Aviator Hats

But usually I go with the stick in ear buds that don't expand. Only occasionally do they not do the job when shooting under a canopy. Although, a set of electronic muffs would be nice.

Surefire Earpro, they are only $12 and they work great and are comfortable. I also have just a regular pair of muffs I got at Lowes.

Another big vote for Surefire Ear Pros. I think I have the 2nd gen. They work great, are comfortable, and priced very cheap. I also have a set of Peltor electronic ear muffs that sometimes I'll use for indoor ranges.

Also if I forget ear pro I'll pop off a couple 9mm rounds and use those in a pinch.

Another surefire user here. Out of all the stuff I have used, they are my favorite.
