Aftermarket headlights?

Anybody have any experience with the aftermarket headlights sold on eBay? If they work good & LAST they would be a good upgrade.

There are dozens of ebay options, some great, some not so great... You have to be careful. I love mine.

I have the tri-bar style lights that use H4 bulbs. Got them at CJs, I like em.

The problem with pre 69 headlights is that they are bigger than the 69-70 so options are stightly limited, since our cars cant get no respect. That is why i went with the hellas, plus theyre a glass housing as well.

My car has the 5-3/4 lights which are typically only used in 69 mustangs (70's went back to 7"). I purchased mine on ebay, they use any H4 bulb you want. Make sure you find a light that advertises a glass lens (not plastic).

Ditto on the glass. Mine are eBay bought. I think in the $40 range and use a h4 bulb.

I have a 1970 mustang and want to upgrade my headlights as well. I've heard that the lighting difference between the H4 upgrade vs the stock bulbs isn't that great, is that true? Is the difference that noticeable? HAs anyone ever gone with the led headlight bulbs ( 01-1179-LED2 Mustang Delta Tech Headlight LED Pair 1965-1968/1970-1973 | CJ Pony Parts )?

If you use a relay kit to ensure that your H4 lights get full alternator voltage, then they are a huge upgrade over stock lights. And a relay kit + H4 housing/bulbs runs under $100, those LEDs are $370. I'm sure the LED would be cool, but I'm not sure they are worth the dough. I know LEDs have come a long way, but in general they are betting for making you seen than letting you see. I'm not sure I would be willing to drop that much extra cash on something I wasn't sure was going to be a huge upgrade.

I have driven with LED headlights on alot of military vehicles. They work great, not sure how those compare the to ones CJPP has tho.

The H4 style lights will produce more light and draw less amperage then your stock 1970 bulbs. Make sure you get a glass lens housing as AJ mentioned and some good bulbs and a relay kit.
