T5 mate to 351 Cleveland engine?

Hey,

Anyone have any idea if a T5 trans will mate up with a 351 Cleveland with minimal complications. Maybe just a different size flywheel or bell housing?

Should bolt up just fine with a new clutch and either a bellhousing adapter or the bellhousing from a T5 equipped mustang and a conversion kit to adapt the original clutch parts like the z-bar.

I should also mention I'm going from automatic to T5 so I need a few conversion pieces. Would I be able to get all the conversion pieces from a junkyard car where I plan on pulling the trans from?

Also what exactly does the Z-bar do?
Thanks

Well since you're going from an automatic you won't have the z-bar and other parts. Your best bet then is to get either a hydraulic or cable clutch kit.

If you are pulling the transmission from a junkyard definitely get the bellhousing it is bolted up to.

This will give you a good idea as to what you would need to convert.

T-5's are not very strong. They only are rated for 300 to 350 ft-lbs of torque, and that's the world class one. Have you looked into a Tremec TKO500 or TKO600?

TKO will require tunnel mods. If you are doing lots of body work, then add this in.
