The gun without the scope would be worth the $900 easy. What all does it have on it?
Collapsible stock? picatinny rail system? all that stuff ads up if you go out and buy it piece by piece.

Say what you want about bushmaster but i have put all sorts of stuff thru mine, and a butt ton of rounds and not one single malfunction, the gas key is staked properly, it there is no blemishes on the receiver. I have seen many many colts get sent out new looking like they were thrown across the driveway, yes it still performs but they need to do some QA on looks. There is nothing wrong with bushy, colt, RRA, S&W MP15, Armalite, spkes, and of course you want top get a noveske, larue, bcm. I personally don't consider Colt up there with those last 3. But to the OP i wouldn't even risk spending any money on that AR he is offering.

I don't think so, it doesn't add up if its not quality parts. I can build a rifle with all crap parts with all those things you mentioned for about 400 bucks.

Colt is good, but overpriced because the US Gov uses them, Bushmaster and RR are just as good if not better..

Laure I can agree with being great quality...

That Colt was a POS, horrid fit and form, only thing saving it from the heap pile was replacement of everything inside it and the fact that it was issued to this SWAT officer. Being that it was once government issue I just chalk it up to that and not Colt's name as I know that Colt would (at least I hope) do better for their AR15's.
I used LOTS of colts when active duty, some good some in bad shape, but I could shoot them all VERY consistently, iron sights.. I'm not braggin on them, because I think RRA & Bushys are better especially with price a factor. I have shot some 'lower quality' builds and I can kind of feel some differences, I've seen retaining pins pop out causing buffer springs to pop out, some feeding and extracting problems, some of that has to do with the ammo. I won't run non-brass through mine..

You're also right on the upper / lower fit.. I would actually put in a added piece to make the upper/lower fit more tight.

ARR-006 - AR-15 CMMG Accu Wedge Rifle Buffer 3 Pack InsertsTightens Rifle Accuracy

Most people can buy a cheap AR and be happy, as long as you get the right barrel and it was assembled well enough..

i never said bushy wasnt a decent gun. its just not a top quality gun, like some of the others postefd. hell my favorite ar of mine isnt a tier 1 gun either, and its never let me down.... the guys that use them hard and run them hard are who i will trust when it comes to picking the top..... ive ran my sw mp15 through one carbine course, and will attending a magpul dynamics, and a several frontsite training courses over the next year or so.... my girlfriends dad bought he and i lifetime memberships to frontsight training facility... super badass. ill be getting my free xd 40 after i attend the first 4 day handgun course

upper to lower fit has nothing to do with how well the gun shoots. i have a problem with putting shit inside my gun that serves no purpose. ive seen an accuwedge break apart and jam up the trigger unit and make the rifle no function. i would never ever run that in a rifle that i am using to defend my life.

hmm.. never had a problem, It may be a personal thing, but when using some tore up rifles I didn't like pulling the trigger and having the upper 'flop around' because of loose fit.. only in competition shooting though, I never used one in combat.. I just made sure my issue rifle didn't suck..

It's kool you get a 'free' XD 40, but what's the membership cost? I CCW my XD 9 Sub.. I love that thing too..

I love my bushy, and honestly the gun I've had the most "problems" with (all be it nothing really 'serious') is my HK USP.. but mainly because I don't run +p through it like I should sometimes.. It doesn't always lock after an empty mag.

No, you are 100% correct, but when you pay for a "tier 1" gun you expect things to line up correctly!

I'll see if I can't get this SWAT officer to take a picture of his Colt Commando... The gap I'm talking about is not between upper and lowers along the horizontal line, but a huge 3mm gap where the upper curves up to meet the lower reciever's buffer tube there is a gap at the "corner" of the round there that is about 3mm wide. It looks horrible and like Colt didnt even care when they assembled the gun. Like I said, I'm just putting it up to the fact that it was a government issued gun at one point and time.

youve never heard of noveske or kac or bcm?

kac is who makes most of the parts that attache to your gun.... like the m203, the ras rails, and countless other things. they also make an amazing rifle.

hmm.. didn't know that..I know Larue makes a lot of attachments...
there's a lot about weapons I do know, but even more I don't, I even asked a buddy of mine (who easily owns more weapons than some small countries, not kidding)... he hadn't heard of those 3 either.. This guy buys weapons and accessories like stocks and bonds.

That's cool, learn something new everyday. most of what I buy is 'good enough' for me to use when the impending zombies come, but since I'm not hunting Taliban anymore I don't spend top dollar on most things.. I'd LOVE an acog, but no way I'll drop the $$$ on it..

AR15 Porn!!

This rifle started life as a RRA Entry Tactical.

Tactical Innovations BDX15 + BCM 16"

Recently refinished this rifle in a combo of woodland green and desert tan. ACOG is on it now.
