Launch Question.

This is kind of on the verge of on/off-topic, but in the Fast and the Furious, the first one, in the final scene where the cop and Vin Diesel are racing in the '70 Charger and the Supra, how many horses must Diesel be throwing down to get a launch like that? Around 700+?

Here's the scene if you don't remember.

It has alot to do with suspension and hooking up...if you have a 1000 hp car with no suspension and cannot hook, it will just spin its a$$ off. It takes a badass setup to do that...Hp isnt everything, 12 second cars that are done right can do it...No matter how badass that car is in that movie, please do not take any advice from those types of movies! lol

heh, I know it was an incredibly inaccurate movie, I was just wondering how much TORQUE a car like that has, along with the suspension and stuff.

Rev the engine consistently and bounce off the rev limiter as many times as you can, then as you're nearing the limiter for the 10th time carefully and completely remove your foot off the clutch as fast as you can and then slam the gas all the way down...

... wait, nevermind that's how idiots in Hondas who don't like their clutches do it.

I hate the fast and the furious movies they turned so many once normal teens into ricers and those whose parents have money not bashing kids whose parents have money or anything but just the ones who have mommy or daddy go and buy them a car like what the ricers think they are. But while were on the subject of F & F who else was pissed to seewhat happened to the Mustang at the end of the 3rd one (and I'm talking about from the point when they found the wrecked Nissan on). By the way that was the only part of that movie I saw and it pissed me the hell off not to mention realize how shitty the rest of movie was.

Its red, long, and comes with an 8 foot bed attached. Wanna come play with it?

if a car that launched like that got that much smoke off the tires, it wouldnt be launching like that. and no way in hell any car is going to hook up that kind of torque on the street even if they are using slicks. it just isnt gonna happen. i cant even hook up slicks on the regular street and im around 315-320 lb ft tq

The only reason i liked the movie is because i think drifting is fun to watch... and the race at the begining between the viper and the muscle car.

no1 else noticed how the RX-7 smoked the mustang on the highway in the 3rd one? u've seen it, u prolly jus didnt notice it was a mustang. and i liked the 3rd one the most, except for the cheezy love story, i mean, that chicks jaw was fuckin huge, i wud never have fallen for that..

but anyways, all these F&F haters kno that the only reason they got into cars is cuz of that movie.. get over it, it brought u in, it aint that bad..

hop off the bandwagon for once in ur life, if ur not a ricer, ur a ricer hater.. good grief

anyways, the whole reason that movie is fake like that is obvious.. who the hell wants to watch a movie about shit that can really happen?? when u watch action movies, do u critisize it because one moment bullets are flyin thru stone walls, then the next moment a wooden door can stop them? NO.. because its entertainment, not a bible or a "how-to" book

the point of my rant? F&F is for movie goers, u want real life.. get a documentary
